Updated review: I've now been back here four times and they have not let me down once. This is really without question the best Japanese place in the Northland. It's 100% legit. Fish is fresh and beautifully prepared. Chicken Karaage is light and crispy. The tofu app is possibly the best tofu I've had, anywhere - and I have had a lot in a lot of places including Japan. These guys are really doing things right. If you are in Whangarei and have a hankering for Japanese I couldn't recommend the place more. Previous review: I love sushi and sashimi. In fact I love Japanese food in general. I'm use to being let down at "Japanese" restaurants in New Zealand. This place didn't let me down. It's spot on. Amazingly fresh fish for their sashimi and the most oishi tofu appetizer!!! I only came for lunch but was super impressed. I'll be back for sure and will update accordingly but for now this place was perfect! read more
