The doctors and front desk staff are great! The sales people are so focused on making a sale they don't listen to what you want or need.

Excessive wait times - 45 minutes to an hour - they have no regard for patients schedules.I won't be back.

I had been diagnosed 4 months prior with Thyroid Eye Disease and was having a terrible time with eye pressure (and even worse time finding help). During my first visit, Dr. Taylor prescribed eye drops. When I asked, "What happens if these don't work?" he replied, "Don't worry! There are a HUNDRED drops." See? HOPE! That was an encouraging remark! BUT SADLY ... after three months and three different drops that did NOT bring my eye pressure down, Dr Taylor said at an appointment, "You're going to have to go somewhere else. I've got no way to help you." I was stunned and asked, "Shouldn't there be 97 other drops since we've only tried 3 and you said there were a hundred?" He shrugged. He refused care for my eyes at that point. We understand that doctors "practice medicine" and we don't expect perfection ... but we do expect the best care. Either Dr. Taylor lied about there being 100 drops to choose from ... or ... he didn't like that he couldn't "fix" my eyes on the first three attempts, so he pronounced himself "done!" Completely disrespectful, discouraging, and unprofessional. Two other side notes: (1) Dr. Taylor wouldn't even discuss prism glasses with me when I asked about ordering a pair. (2) Dr. Taylor told me I should definitely try the Tepezza infusions for my eye disease, but when I asked for more information (materials, a pamphlet, anything) he said his office had nothing, but I should do it (with nothing to go on). If you ... or a family member needs more from an optometrist than a pair of glasses, I would recommend looking elsewhere for help. When you've got issues and are NEED experts to help with the things you don't know ... you EXPECT a doctor who WANTS to help. Paul Vision isn't that doctor's office!

When i called to book, I was asked who my insurance was through & was even told they were in network, yet when I arrived to my appt they asked for my health insurance 'too.' I said I didn't have that on me, I had the vision insurance card which covered everything i had scheduled in full- i know for a fact that my medical insurance will not cover the exam or contact fitting. They looked at me like i had 8 heads as i backed away from the counter when it was confirmed that if I went through with the appointment, I would then be responsible for a bill that I had no clue how high it could go (looking at reviews from 5+ years ago, looks like it would easily be hundreds of dollars as opposed to $0 if they would just bill the correct insurance company from the beginning). They mentioned that they are a specialist, but this makes no sense either since i've been to a dental specialist who still bills all services through dental insurance. Other google reviews say they claim they're a specialist and that means most patients need multiple visits.. still not making any sense. They said if my medical insurance denied everything, that I could then reach out to my vision insurance to try to be reimbursed--just no. Why would you unnecessarily complicate something like this? People shouldn't have to file claims and deal with that whole process after the fact because you refuse to file insurance properly on the front end. You should be able to trust professional medical offices. If you review your insurance policy benefits and locate a provider within network, there is absolutely no reason for a patient to then be met with such untraditional practices and refusal to utilize an insurance policy that is solely in place for the services provided here. Perhaps if this doctor had a sprained ankle and sought care and was then asked for their dental insurance, maybe then they would understand how absolutely scammy and bizarre this practice sounds.

I only have vision in one eye and have limited peripheral vision and depth perception. Therefore, driving is already difficult enough without dilation. Upon requesting that my eyes not be dilated, I was told that Chad was a "stickler" about dilation and I would need to be rescheduled. Mind you, I was never told that there was a "dilation requirement" when I scheduled the appointment. After speaking with a supervisor, I was told the same thing. I asked to speak with Chad. From there, things went from bad to worse. Chad walked into the exam room and asked in a rude tone; "What's the problem?" He never said "Hello" nor did he introduce himself. I explained my concerns about driving home safely and he said that I could reschedule and come back when I had someone to drive me. I explained that I had an eye doctor for over 20 years who respected my request to not be dilated due to my safety when driving. Chad replied: "Maybe he is a better doctor than me." Needless to say, the office could have requested my records from my previous eye doctor in CT, but clearly the practice doesn't care about my well being, my vision or my safety. Chad said that he had a solution. He asked me to reschedule and to come back when I had someone to drive me home. While that may have seemed like a viable option to Chad, I am a single woman, new to the area and I don't have anyone to drive me. This doesn't take away the fact that once my eyes are dilated, I won't be able to see clearly for several hours. However, my physical safety was obviously not a concern for Chad. He insisted that he had a "liability" to ensure my eye health. This is untrue. He could have documented that I refused dilation and therefore he is not liable. It's really as simple as that but his ego held sway. To say that Chad was rude and arrogant would be an understatement. His downward communication style spoke of his lack of confidence and his inability to listen to a patient's concerns. His rigidity and abhorrent bed side manner leaves a lot to be desired in a provider who is allegedly a "professional." While I knew that his education and licensure were less than an opthalmologist, I never expected his professional conduct to be so haughty. I definitely would NOT recommend Chad Tisdale or Wilmington Eye for your vision needs. You might get blindsided by an optometrist who refuses to make accommodations for individuals with a visual disability. You would be better off having your dog examine your eyes.
