Discriminates against large disabled people! I was leaving…read moreArrow park hospital hours later after being rushed in and having a blood transfusion. I ring argyle sat taxi's for a larger car which i know they charge you more for (time and a half) so the girl asked me why do i want a larger taxi.... I tell her because im a bariatric person and need a car that's high enough to get in (as can't get in low down cars or small ones) after quizzing me to why i want a bigger taxi and being a bit invasive she then tells me its booked in and will be with me soon. After waiting 5 - 10 mins a Toyota Prius turns up and the middle eastern taxi driver winds down the window saying something which i could not make out, i was shouting over i ordered a 6 seater/larger taxi, then i shouted over its fine ill try and get in and the driver starts shouting aggressively out the car but still not audibly recognisable to what he is saying and then aggressively drives off. I rang the taxi office back up to be told "oh im so sorry he usually drives a 6 seater car" When that was a lie as the tracking comes up with what car he is driving. she then goes on to say she doesn't have a 6 seater or SUV normal car out working that evening which was a load of fabricated lies as i sat on a hospital wheel chair with 2 health care assistants for ages watching countless bigger argle satellite taxi cars pull up for other customers who arrived after me to the front main entrance, I then try to book a taxi through the automated service for a pick up again without talking to the woman in the office and i get a nasty call back from her saying did you just try and book a taxi before and we told you we don't have anything available... I said yes i did why... im then told that they are refusing to supply me a taxi because ive supposedly wet myself and the middle eastern guy had told the office ive pissed myself which was the worst LIES ive heard to a reason why they wouldn't give me a taxi. first of all im 34 years of age and I don't piss myself and never have done, 2nd of all my pants were not wet at all from anything else (spilled drink, etc) The absolute disgusting taxi company wouldn't take me because im a large person (bariatric) with mobility issues! So i tell the woman i do not have any wet patches on my shorts and i just need a card to get me home as im stranded and need to get home (upset by this point as im cold and in pain) and the woman in a patronising voice keeps saying how they have no cars available and cannot get me a taxi, so i say to the woman, Are you refusing me service to which she replied yes for the rest of the day/night... By this point im fuming because of the lies and discrimination towards a bariatric person with limited mobility just trying to get home! All because the company's control room staff are incompetent of sending you the taxi for your need and there drivers are a bunch of lying scamming rats who make false claims to refuse to take you in their taxi. All the woman had to do from the control room was send me another car and apologise for the mistake, she could of even put it to me that the driver said what he did so i could address that i was not wet or had any wet patches on my shorts and that it could be due to poor lighting as it was dark outside and could of been a shadow. Baring in mind i was with 2 healthcare assistants as they helped me by pushing the wheel chair to the front of the hospital and stayed with me to chat and wait along with me. I have witnesses of the discrimination and lies from the drivers actions and the woman on the phone as it was on loud speaker every time! DO NOT USE THESE CLOWNS WHO LIE AND DISCRIMINATE YOU!!

How can I put this?…read more To say that Argyle Satellite are never on time would be quite the understatement. In some cases, they can be frustratingly early to the point that they arrive some 5 to 10 minutes before the time the journey was actually booked for before starting the meter on the app and overcharging you to the tune of 25 pence per minute despite them having arrived early. In other cases, they are so late that there is a greater chance of a herd of pastel-coloured pegasi appearing than there is of a taxi from this company appearing. In both cases, I find this to be particularly frustrating as due to personal circumstances, I have to use this company to get to and from work each day. Their monopoly in the Wirral does not help matters one bit. Furthermore, they have a peculiar proclivity for overcharging to the point I am convinced that they are the taxi company equivalent of the most capitalistic Ferengi in Star Trek, hoarding all their wealth like they're a fusion of Grand Nagus Zek and Liquidator Brunt. I would wager that Jeff Bezos were to spend all his wealth on taxi journeys using Argyle, he'd be able to afford 2 journeys, maybe 3 before finding himself destitute, and that's if the journey was from Birkenhead to Liverpool. If it were at all possible, I would rate the company 0, maybe -1 out of 5. Some of the drivers are nice, but that is a small plus in a sea of minuses.

Let me tell you about Phoenix Cabs…read more Recently, my girlfriends and I made the trip out to Liverpool. We'd never been before, didn't quite know what to expect. as luck would have it, the flat we had rented was a few miles outside of the city center - far enough that it wasn't too expensive for a cab, but too far to walk. We found Phoenix Cabs through Yelp and boy, did we get lucky. The driver was prompt, the cab was clean, and it was the cheapest cab we'd taken in our whole time in England. We saved the phone number and proceeded to use them any time we needed a taxi and they were available. We were in Liverpool for just over two weeks, so you can imagine - that's a lot of cabs. Granted, they are a smaller company so busy nights can be a little harder, but if you just need a cab to get somewhere, they're the best. A couple things stood out to us, though. A driver we had often, John (or Jon, never was sure of the spelling), knew we were out there to see LFC play. We'd talk about the team with him in the cab and we mentioned we didn't have tickets to the last home game of the season. We were going to Dublin for a few days so naturally we called Phoenix for a ride to the airport. John/Jon picked us up and proceeded to get on the radio and ask the other drivers if they knew of any spare tickets to the game that weekend when we got back. Super nice, didn't have to do that. We were touched. On the drive to the airport, he pointed out some houses of former players and then asked if we had some time to stop. He pulls over and we look out the window - he's stopped at Strawberry Fields. Just enough time for us to get a quick picture in front before we were on the road again. And then he stops again - this time outside John Lennon's childhood home. We didn't have to ask, we had time for our flight, but it was the nicest gesture, giving us a chance to visit two landmarks we hadn't had a chance to yet. When we returned from Dublin, we ended up taking another Phoenix Cab to the city center. John picked us up again and drove us in. He told us on the ride down that while we were in Dublin (for about four days) he asked all the drivers and asked around if anyone had tickets to this game for us. He came up short, as we expected, but the fact that he asked around and tried for us while we were gone was the cherry on the ice cream for us. On our last day in Liverpool, a driver picked us up and got on the radio to tell the others that "The American girls" were leaving and they all got on and wishes us well and safe travels home. It was so touching I teared up a little bit. They were just fantastic drivers, all around, and we were lucky to have found them So if you're in Liverpool and need a cab, call them up. They made our trip that much more worth it and I know we'll be calling them as soon as we get back.
