I have been suffering from acute pain for years and tried various treatments to cope with the pain…read morewithout success until I found Dr. Kamyar Cohanshohet or "Dr. K" as his patients and staff call him. Dr. K is a very special doctor, he listens attentively and treats more than just the symptoms. Dr. K has a background not just in pain management but also an in depth understanding of internal medicine and the etiology of pain. All of the doctors I had visited before Dr. K seemed like they didn't understand how pervasively devastating chronic acute pain is to the quality of life. Under-managed pain affects every aspect of one's life. Since I have been under treatment with Dr. K my quality of life has improved tremendously. My pain is now effectively controlled to the point where my work product, emotional well being and my ability to exercise have all improved dramatically. Being self employed I have a lot of responsibility to my business and employees and need to do my best at work. Being in constant and debilitating pain was interfering with my performance at work. Everyone I work with from my vendors, customers and employees have noticed the positive changes since I came under the care of Dr. K. I am being treated by various other specialists including a cardiologist and an endocrinologist. Dr. K is the first pain management doctor I have had that has asked to be read in on all of my reports from the different specialties. He has an intense interest in, and concern about, other factors affecting my health besides pain issues. This speaks volumes about his approach to caring for his patients. Dr. K also has a very professional and helpful staff. Claire is extra helpful and does her best to facilitate appointments, billing, etc., while being sympathetic and understanding to patients suffering from pain. A little side note about the man's character: Just as my wife and I are, Dr. K is an animal lover. One morning Dr. K found an abandoned kitten on the street and rescued the little guy, he actually brought it to his office and then found a safe placement for the kitty. He didn't just turn the kitten into any old animal shelter, he found a rescue organization that finds homes for their animals and does not euthanize and that is where he delivered the kitten. Dr. K has a heart of gold.

I called Dr. K and was hoping to find someone who would understand my pain and help me figure out…read morehow to handle it. I have several different areas that cause me intense pain. I was told during my initial call that the Dr would call me back in an hour (Friday). By Monday, after not having received any call back I called the receptionist. She stated that I was not a candidate and the Dr had decided he could not help me since I had asked a question about the mandatory UA (Urine Analysis). I was mid sentence in asking the receptionist another question and she rudely cut me off and just said she couldnt spend any more time with me and hung up. I have been treated for 5 years with my current pain specialist and have had a good relationship and had voluntarily dropped my own meds as well as being active in several kinds of PT programs. I was merely looking for a second opinion to discuss my therapy. I do not understand how a Dr could be so callous as to not even talk to me on the phone due to whatever a some recptionist told him. Don't waste your time with this Dr if you are looking for someone who is empathetic about your pain or discussing your treatment, and definately do not discuss anything with the receptionist (Gail). Best of luck if you are in pain, I know its not fun and wish you all the best in finding a Dr who is willing to sit down and discuss whatever aspects of your treatment are on your mind. His ad states you will have a free phone consult, which was not the case for me, insist on speaking to the Dr and do not speak to the receptionist. Maybe you will have better luck than I did.

I have nasty migraines which I've had since birth and they're very under control under Dr. Samuel's care. Without this top notch care, I would literally be disabled and my quality of life would be terrible. I used to just have to leave work and be incapacitated with pain and nausea, sometimes for days!! He's so compassionate, and he listens to you and always makes you feel like you're a partner with him in your care. He also does a lot to help people in need in his clinic - individuals that may not be able to access a doctor as good as he is or that high level of care. That really impresses me. Decency seems rare these days, but you wouldn't know it when you see a person like Dr. Samuel. He helped my sister solve a mysterious problem that supposedly was nerve related. We finally got peace of mind and he gave her a clean bill of health, which was amazing! His office staff is very on top of it and great at communicating and handling appointments. There is limited parking in the back but I usually am fine and the area is easy to park in. Sometimes there can be a wait, but that's because people with neurological problems sometimes can have a lot of trouble understanding things. I try to be compassionate and not get frustrated because they need help and their brains aren't I the best shape which is why they're at the doctor. Dr. Samuel is so patient, it's remarkable. I just tell the office staff of my day is tight and they schedule me in the early morning so I can get in and out quickly. He also does my follow ups via Telehealth when possible, which is awesome. And lastly, we discovered we both love electronic music because he plays some dope tunes in the office! We love chatting about our favourite bands and the latest festivals and shows. I am confident now that my brain won't explode any time soon, and I always have a good time at my appointments with groovy Dr Samuel! What a cool dude!!

After a 5.5 hour surgery and incredible care by a great Nurse by the name of Sean I walked out the next day Without pain!! I highly recommend Dr Bhamb for any back issues. I was in a really bad car accident at the beginning of this year and I was worried because my health insurance didn't cover chiropractic care. What a blessing Dr. Assemi was right from the start. After he found out that I would be paying out of pocket, he offered me a special rate for his services. From my very first appointment, I literally felt like a weight had been lifted off my body and I was 20 years old again!! Miracle worker. He was so thorough making sure he fixed every little kink and ache I had from head to toe. He's always so polite and makes sure your comfortable during treatment. When I found out I was pregnant, he even took caution not to use electromagnetic therapy for the lower half of my back, just in case. He is well informed in his field and also gives you an educational lesson as he explains the problematic issues occurring in your body at the time. I enjoyed that part very much and will refer anyone to him if they want the best and actually leave knowing you have been helped.
