My experience with Dr. Rajan Patel and Patel Orthopedics in Beverly Hills was extremely disappointing.
Based on my personal experience, I would NOT recommend this office, especially to families seeking compassionate, attentive, and trustworthy care for a child.
It appears that vulnerable accident victims referred through personal injury attorneys are being charged amounts far beyond customary rates. Patients trust both their attorneys and their medical providers to act in good faith not to maximize payouts at the expense of injured children and families. My son only received two PRP injections at the cost of $22,000.00.
I also reviewed correspondence sent from Dr. Patel's iPhone 17 to Amy Wu of Wilshire Law Firm stating:
"He has enough to pay my entire bill of $22,000.00 and that will make up for the 4 cases we lost earlier."
This statement is alarming and raises serious questions regarding how these charges were determined, who "we" refers to, and whether unrelated financial losses were being considered when billing my son's case.
This was Nathaniel's first accident. Prior to this injury, he had played flag football since age four, tackle football since age eight, and trained in boxing during the off season. The meniscus injury disrupted years of athletic development and significantly impacted future opportunities, including the possibility of scholarship consideration. Nearly five years later, this matter remains unresolved largely because Dr. Patel has refused to reduce these charges to a fair and ethical amount.
I am asking you once again to do the right thing. Look beyond the file and see the child behind it what he has endured, what opportunities were lost, and what our family has gone through while this case remains open.
I want to express genuine empathy to anyone who has gone through something similar. It can be overwhelming, emotionally draining, and isolating. Please know you are not alone. Sometimes connecting with others who have had comparable experiences can provide clarity, support, and understanding.
I may also have information and resources that could help you better understand your options and how to hold those involved accountable through appropriate and lawful channels.
Has anyone experienced a lack of communication regarding fees, treatment recommendations, lien amounts, or overall costs until much later in the process?
I would sincerely appreciate hearing from anyone willing to share their experience.
Warmest Regards,
