I unenrolled my son with Omar D Blair since May 2024 (for SY 2023-2024) but apparently they never unenrolled him and now they're charging me fees for SY 2024-2025. Tried calling the main office, sent emails - no response. Tried visiting the office, it's all "oh okay, yes we will do it." Horrible. Staff turnover is very high. Loved,trusted and experienced teachers don't stay long: lots of rookie teachers, uncertified teachers and uncertified administration. Curriculum changes yearly. Due to lack of continuity of staff and curriculum, test scores are continuously low. Many layers of administration: everything appears to be micromanaged. Special services for students are difficult to access due to 'data collection' and 'documentation' that takes months. No library for students (it is there, but the space is used as a meeting room, while books sit unused on shelves). Entire school seems disorganized and unsure of what they are trying to accomplish due to too many 'new' programs and procedures that seem to change yearly. read more

My little sister is currently attending this Charter school, located in Green Valley Ranch. The school is targeted for kids in grades K-8. A lot of my good high school classmates also attended this school as well. Let's see: her first teacher Alicia Harper was rude, constantly yelling and making these kids feel unappreciated and stupid. Look, I get it: I'm all for child discipline and action, but when I came to chaperone, these kids were badly talked to, to the point where as soon as she saw me see her way of communicating with these kids, she immediately apologized from humiliation. She did not provide my student with the basic, yet vital help she needs! My sister was behind on a lot of class material, and the teachers only complain, whine that these kids get distracted. You do realize maybe you're part of the problem as a teacher. Same thing for Ms. Williams. Now, Harley Young is the best teacher my student has. She's been excelling at all the class material and passing with flying colors. Great teacher, this school needs more room for improvement. They also need to take school bullying seriously. They need to address this issue. This is vitally affecting more students than they care for. read more
