The care these educators have for the children is evident through their actions. The elements used to teach is amazing and relatable to my child. I often hear my child counting in Spanish while we drive home from school. Ms. Vanessa is our teacher and she is just the best. She expects the kids to act a certain way and they don't want to disappoint her because they love her so much. My wife and I both work full time, so consequently our daughter had to start attending when she was first eligible, almost right at the 3 month mark. We were both uneasy about this early transition, my wife especially. She was extremely emotional the first day, which of course is normal. We both agree that the next day and each day following was much easier to drop her off, and this was directly related to the staff at Smart Bear. Ms. Sarah and Ms. Amanda really did bond quickly with our daughter and it was apparent how much they do care for all of the kids in their classroom. The two of them are absolutely top notch and we are so thankful to have found them. Our daughter has since graduated from the infant room, and again we were uneasy with the early transition. And again, Ms. Sarah jumped in to make sure we didn't feel that way for more than a day. She is constantly checking on our daughter in her new classroom, commonly holding her when we arrive to pick her up and giving us updates. As a result, our daughter has adjusted well and quickly to the change. She has started walking more, using sign language more, and talking more; since she gets to hang out and compete with the older kids. Everything thus far with Smart Bear has really been an excellent experience. This is coming from someone who can be fairly critical of businesses, as you can confirm by digging through some of my other Yelp reviews. Top notch care & teaching from their teachers, curriculum, food (it always smells so good!), they have such fun events for the kids & even the entire family! Both of our daughters are so smiley & happy at SBLC, which gives me peace of mind & confidence they are genuinely being cared for. Personally, I love the mommy community at SBLC too! My child no longer wanted to go there each morning, and a new administrator (that had just started working there a very short time ago) made it clear that she had no interest in getting to know or work with families, or in figuring out how to help children feel comfortable and succeed in their environment (or maybe she didn't have the skills or tools to actually know how to do this, but either way it was unacceptable). Administrative turnover is common (3 times in under 2 years). Way too expensive for these types of issues and we are happy to have found another setting that actually communicates proactively and runs smoothly with caring teachers.

I 100% do NOT recommend this preschool simply because of the director Terra. My 4 year old son who…read moreis now 5 started going to RMP last year around October(2025). My ex husband had my son start going here while I moved to Colorado so him and his wife interacted with Terra at first. When I was finally able to move here in December of 2025 and have my son move back in with me, I was told that Terra has terrible communication skills and that she will either get back to you when she wants or not at all. I've been working as a preschool teacher for over 10 years so I thought that had to be ridiculous. There is no way a director can act like that. Earlier this year she wanted to have a meeting with me about my son and his behavior. I was thrilled because I haven't really had to communicate with her much and my son has been going through so much and putting his teachers through a lot. I was more than willing to talk it out and we did. I ended up getting him tested and he was diagnosed with autism. So as I was told by my son's new therapist I sent Terra two emails about coming up with a plan for him to help him and the teachers out. Crickets from her. But if I wrote her about another subject not pertaining to my son's autism she would reply back the same day. In May of this year I decided to pull him out of the school. And guess what? She replied extremely fast when it came to withdrawaling my son's enrollment. I'm also not a big fan of them not reporting everytime they lose a child or I guess I should say everytime they misplaced a child. They got caught earlier this year with a child wondering around in their parking lot but I know about the kids who got locked out in the playground or left in the bathroom this year. Again, because I've been a preschool teacher for so long these HAVE to get reported. Something has to be done. But instead I guess Terra decides to sweep it under the rug. I think that's BS and actually scary because you never know if it could be your child next. On the plus side, my son adores his two teachers that he has right now and I'm so sad to have to take him away from them but I can not deal with Terra and her lack of professionalism. My son's two teachers are the only reason I added an extra star to the review. When it comes to my child I need clear and concise communication which I have not been getting. However. The current leadership is unfortunate, inexperienced, and unprofessional. The Director and Assistant Directors were unsupportive of my family directly and were very manipulative and two-faced in how they handled the situation with us personally. They threw other staff under the bus when confronted about mishandling the situation. I have since heard stories that are of concern about how they are conducting things that seem to only reiterate poor leadership and compelled me to write this review. I don't trust the current leadership, the high tuition rate that they keep raising, the consistent billing issues, the lack of support for the teachers and any students that aren't following "marching orders". They don't want to be bothered with handling kids who need more care or support.
