If I could choose zero stars, that's what I'd pick! Seems you get decent service if you actually buy a boat from them, otherwise, they do all they can to NOT get your business. Cocky attitude actually.
I bought an inboard surf boat from the Ozarks last year (7 hour drive from my home) and immediately got a trailer recall before ever even getting it to the lake. I was told I could take it to Omaha Marine for additional bracing to be added to the trailer (15 minutes worth of work). Omaha Marine refused to do the work because they said that the trailer manufacturer wasn't willing to pay their hourly wage. They were still getting paid for an hour to do 15 minutes of work). After my having to work with the dealer and manufacturer as the middle man, the trailer company decided to pay them their full hourly rate. After posting a negative review, I was called by Omaha Marine and told that they would do the recall on the trailer if I would take the review down; I agreed. Obviously, their service is reactionary to remove all negative posts to give the perception that they actually proactively promote best in class service; which they do not.
The sixth trip to the lake this summer (16 engine hours), the drive shaft came out in the middle of the lake. I was told by my dealer that I could take it to the nearest Mercruiser dealer and have it fixed (Omaha Marine). They seemed unhappy and disappointed when I dropped the boat off just because I hadn't bought it from them and took six weeks to "fix" it. The brass prop was dinged by the rudder and was also to be replaced which I had them note but was ignored. Now I am having to spend more time fighting with the manufacturer to get me a new prop. When I picked the boat up (after summer was over), I basically got a snarl and middle finger. They got paid just the same whether I bought the boat from them or not but obviously feel they have plenty of other business that they don't need mine.
Next time I'll drive it 7 hours to get repaired and take every opportunity to steer people away from the consumer unfriendly folks at Omaha Marine. Worst service I've had in years. read more
