Facebook is a great place to start when searching for reputable local technicians with real community references. If you are going through something similar and want a second set of eyes on a quote or help finding a local option, reach out to me. I refuse to stay quiet while scammers prey on people in a vulnerable position. This felt like a scam from start to finish, from the person who scheduled my appointment to the technician who showed up. Technician (License Plate: D39485H) : * Extremely late arrival. - My appointment window was 12:30 PM-2:00 PM. The technician arrived at 4:12 PM. I had to call the company at 1:30 PM and again at 2:00 PM just to confirm whether anyone was still coming. * No acknowledgment or apology. - No explanation. No accountability. * Unprofessional behavior. - He kept AirPods in with music playing the entire time. * Poor communication. - He was vague and unclear until I refused the quote. Only then did the tone shift. * Ignored my request for a final quote before work. - I explicitly asked for a finalized quote before anything started. He ignored that. * Began work without approval. - While I stepped away briefly, he started removing the garage door springs without my consent, a known pressure tactic because once parts are removed, you feel forced to proceed. * Property damage and attempted cover-up. - He damaged my wall with a ladder and tried to hide it. This was caught on my Ring camera. * Lied about his identity and role. - He told me his name was "Adam Adam" and claimed the manager was "Abraham." He also claimed they were the owners of Olympus Garage Door Repair, which directly contradicts what the call center later admitted: Olympus operates as a broker that dispatches technicians who may not even be licensed or certified. * Inflated quote. - They quoted me $900 even though the average cost in my ZIP code is around $450. Call Center Experience : * Took about 20 calls to address the wall damage. * No consistent process or documentation. - Every call felt like starting over. I repeatedly had to explain the entire situation, despite being told they had "taken everything down." * No respect for time or follow-through. - They promised callbacks within 15-20 minutes and did not follow through. When I called again due to their lack of response, they acted like I was "wasting their time." * Rude, passive-aggressive, and dismissive. - Instead of resolving the issue, multiple associates talked down to me and tried to act smart rather than helpful. What a legitimate company looks like (for comparison) : I hired another company to complete the job and they did a great job. They charged me $350, clearly explained what needed to be done, and took the time to show me a straightforward cost breakdown. The difference in professionalism and pricing was night and day. Final warning: Do NOT let this company touch your property without a written, finalized quote and explicit approval. Document everything. This company is totally a rip-off. They are not licensed in Oregon, no CCB#, so there is no recourse with AG office. AVOID THEM! I backed into my garage door and it would not open. Called them and this guy, Raz Tam, shows up, unmarked car, no signage. He fixed the problem by pushing it back unto place, it was only slightly bent. The door then opened perfectly. OK so far but then he proceeds to take bolts off, claim the door was rotten, needed replaced. Huge expense. I told him to put the bolts back on, which he did very reluctantly, and the door resumed normal operation. Bill was $450 for 15-20 minutes of work. I contacted the office later who just kept referring me back to Mr. Tam who was rude and uncooperative. This happened in Dec 2025 and as of today April 2026 my door is working perfectly fine. we had a whole garage door opener system replaced. the service tech girl was awesome. we paid extra money for their top warranty plan. that was less than a year ago. in March the door stopped working. we found it came off track the chain part. I called on a Sunday got a guy to answer. said they'd be right out after he talked about a service charge & they'd give an estimate.i mentioned then if the service plan we bought & he immediately said ill have my service manager call you back. It's been 2 months & no one has called. My husband actually was able to fix it himself & im going to copy my receipt and ask for a refund on the service plan because we just gave them money for nothing. Technician came out to fix 2 garage door openers and we were quoted a price. Tech barely made 1 door work twice and it shortly stopped working, he was not able to repair either one. Tech then tried to bully my wife into paying entire quote. I finally ended up paying half quote to get him to leave our driveway. He barely spoke English, was afraid of our dogs due to his religion and had zero respect for my wife. He "showed" us how to open it manually, which we had been doing already. When closing 1 garage door manually, he had difficulty. I went and looked and cable had been moved off pulley so garage door doesn't even function now. He made things worse! Run from these people! It's not a repair service it's a switchboard for a bunch of Ind contractors. If you have a problem nothing will be done. Lot's of talk, lot's of promises. NO ONE will give you a name. A customer "service" man hung up on me! TWICE! Finally a "manager" said the techs that had been out the first time had to be the ones to fix it. I asked for their names and she said "we won't know who the next available repairman would be." I asked her how will they know if it's the same guys as last time then? Olympus Gate Repair & Garage Door is a SCAM I had a really disappointing experience with this company. I called them on a Friday and set up an appointment for Sunday morning between 8 to 10 AM. Unfortunately, they never showed up or called that Sunday. I decided not to reschedule after that no-show. Then on Monday, they began calling me repeatedly starting at 7:30 in the morning, telling me a technician was on the way for a Monday appointment I never actually agreed to. When I explained no one was home and that I had never rescheduled, I hoped that would be the end of it. However, today, which is Wednesday, they called me again at 7:30 in the morning. I received about 15 calls, voicemails, and texts from different numbers saying a technician would be arriving that morning--once again, completely unscheduled. At this point, it felt like harassment. They were extremely disorganized and unprofessional, and I absolutely would not recommend them to anyone. In fact, I even noticed that every time I visited their website, the contact phone number kept changing, which only added to the feeling that this might be a scam. This is a scam company. They will come to your house, quote you a reasonable amount for the most likely issue (spring fix, battery), typically $100-$200. Then they will do the work (often badly), and then present you with a bill for thousands. My elderly father was presented with a $3400+ bill and intimidated into paying it. It's elderly abuse. I called for an estimate. They said they had to see it to give me a quote to fix my garage door. Of course, I get that. I let them into my garage so they could inspect the door. I went back inside (I work from home, and continued to work). I go back outside about a half hour later, and my whole garage door was taken down. I saw, holy moly. How much is this going to cost? "So far, it's going to be $1200." I said I just want it put back the same way they found it...and then they said that would be $800. Ridiculous. I don't know anything about anything related to this. So I got upset and called the office. They claimed I authorized the work. I said NOPE. I called for a quote. I told the techs to get me a quote. I am ok with an inspection fee but they went to pound town and took everything apart. They need to put it together as if they never came. Long story short, i figured I was better spending an additional $400 and have it working right. I ok'd the work at that point. When they were done, I was handed a bill for a little over $2800. I made a huge mistake. I intended to call Olympia Overhead Doors whom I have worked with before and had excellent results, but instead I inadvertently called Olympus Garage Door. Similar name. Legitimate mistake. HUGE MISTAKE!!! From the moment the guy arrived, he tried to high-pressure me into buying things I had no need of. He gave me different options ranging from $5,400 to $7,800. I am 76 years old and in a wheelchair and I was pretty sure he was taking advantage of me so I called my contractor friend across the street. Turns out, it was one bolt that sheered off and needed to be replaced. Bottom line, for one bolt and one nut and ten minutes of work, I was charged $625. I was told they would email a receipt to me which they never did. I called three times in the following week asking for it and they never returned my calls. The BBB tells me they are based out of Arizona and have a reputation for scamming people. We had this company come to our house in Miami, FL. They changed the price after we approved the labor, to over 1k. (The repair should have been in the $2-500 range, even after hours). The repair was done incorrectly (which they acknowledged). They repaired it again, also incorrectly (they failed to properly adjust the spring tension and reprogram the computer associated with the motor). Then they recommended an unnecessary repair for another 1k. If you want a good and honest company in the Miami area, call Brito. STAY AWAY FROM Olympus Garage Door and Gate Repair (https://olympusgaragedoorrepair.com) On March 31, 2025, around 6:00 PM, I contacted this company to install a garage screen door and submitted a deposit of $1,350.00 via a one-page payment link sent to me by email. This link contained no terms or conditions of sale. The next morning on April 1, 2025, at 8:15 AM, approximately 14 hours later I called the guy I dealt with and cancel the order. I immediately contacted Capital One which temporarily refunded my deposit. However, this was later reversed after Olympus submitted a false five-page document to the bank, which included fabricated terms and conditions created after the fact. One of the claims in this document was: "I completed my job professionally to the customer's satisfaction." This is entirely false. No work was performed. As mentioned, I canceled the order well before any service was rendered. When I followed up with Capital One they informed me that they would not pursue the refund unless I could provide proof that the company accepted the cancellation. They advised me to contact Olympus directly to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, Olympus Garage Door and Gate Repair has refused to issue a refund, claiming they no longer have the funds and that the bank retains the money. When I requested a business address, I was told they "work remotely" and do not have a physical location. Additionally, I noticed they appear to change their phone number on their website two to three times per day, They use an answering service and they will not provide an email address stating they will have a supervisor call me back, they never do.
