The overall experience is good MR park is an excellent teacher but I've come to see my three kids…read morein these classes and I see that the teacher MISS Mia threatens kids into returning them to white belt and I've seen litteral purple belts get sent back to white belt not only that but Miss Mia also treats kids unfairly like my girl currently Blue belt does stretching well and the "Well deserved black belt teacher" tells her to do better wdmy she doing extremely well I honestly think she needs a pair of glasses and when my son also blue belt went to go set up a game of volleyball or something the teacher was yelling at him to go line up with the rest of the kids I'm sorry to say this but Miss Mia needs a better temper

I visited Hosanna TKD as an adult and earned my blackbelt at 25, so my perspective may be a little…read moredifferent. Master Park is a very caring instructor, and I like that he instills a small amount of both Korean culture (of which Taekwondo is founded on) while encouraging students to work hard and disciplining students when instructions are not followed. The class sizes are fairly small so every student can get personalized attention. When the classes are larger (5+) groups, his wife who is also a black belt also comes to help out. There are belt tests every two months, so students are always encouraged to work hard so that they can rank up. Being an adult, one could imagine that I could have paid my way towards a black belt at any other locations, but that was not the case here. I appreciated that Master Park still held me to the standards of any other students, and that was no joke when it came to flexibility and forms. While forms are often easier to master through repetition, splits were a much more challenging skill, and by the end of two years of training, I finally achieved 2/3 of my splits, with the last one being only about 5 inches off the ground. In addition to TKD and its benefits, Master Park also tries to incorporate other martial arts styles such as boxing and supplements a primarily lower-body style of martial arts with upper-body techniques as well. While COVID made it harder to be involved, I wanted to help support the family business through private lessons. While at the time Master Park had no time for private lessons, I am glad to hear that they now have more students, and it is also nice to see that he has hired some of the black belts as instructors at his studio.

Overall: 5/5 stars…read more My children used to come to Family TKD Center since before the Pandemic (in 2019-2026) for about 5-6 years. (Took brief break during COVID.) The name "Family TKD" suits them perfectly, all the kids feel so comfortable here that they often have siblings (all the children in a "family") attend at the same time. Also, Master Amber and the other instructors/staff treat everyone like family. It's a warm, caring, and welcoming environment (that's why we continued to return 3 days a week for more than 5 years)! Cost: 5 stars. My children's piano classes cost more than this! Lol. My kids attended to their teenage years and they enjoyed learning self-defense, gained a lot of confidence, and most of all, they always had fun and got good exercise. Master Amber was very flexible and accommodating (my kids attended many classes during the week for the same overall price). I appreciated that each child was challenged yet respect and safety was always at the forefront of everything. Also, they often had free games and treats with their annual Halloween, Christmas, or other events. There were so many families who attended for so many years, I'm surprised there are not more recent reviews. They had complimentary classes to try them out. Parking: Free. Plenty. (Also, was able to pick up dinner from Little Ceasars, the Vietnamese, Mexican, or Indian restaurants next door!)

Master Jung and master Art are great and work so well with the kids. I love the discipline that is taught here and applied not only at practice but at home as well. My son is excited to come on the days he has practice and always has something positive to say after! I recommended this studio to my son's whole class and I'm comfortable in that decision.

What stands out most is the balance between structured martial arts instruction and practical self-defense training. The instructors focus heavily on fundamentals such as stances, forms, and technique but they also incorporate realistic sparring and situational drills that help students understand how techniques apply in real life situations. For kids, the classes are especially well designed. The instructors manage to keep the training disciplined and structured while still making it enjoyable. There are drills, games, and partner activities that build coordination, confidence, and teamwork. The kids stay engaged, but they're also learning respect, focus, and self control along the way. Another thing I appreciate is that the instructors pay attention to each student's development rather than rushing through belt promotions. They emphasize proper technique, consistency, and attitude. You can tell the goal is long-term growth, not just quick advancement. Overall, UNT Taekwondo offers a solid combination of traditional martial arts training, practical application, and an environment that keeps kids motivated. It's a place where students not only improve physically but also develop discipline and confidence that carries over into everyday life.
