Mike was exceptional in his knowledge of acoustic guitars from wood types to brand subtleties. I was in with a decent budget since I really wanted a guitar that I could play for a long time. Mike's service and attention to the customer really helped my purchase, I ended up purchasing a Martin retailing at $1,459(with case and some accessories). I had just been "restructured" by my employer and in lieu of some cash owed me, they gave me a gift card to either Guitar Center or Olive Garden. Duh, a no brainer. Viewing the website, in North Carolina there happened to be an Inspired By Gibson Epiphone J-200 12 string used, excellent condition. From the photo, it looked like it could be first cousin to my own Gibson J-200 I bought back in 1968. I had to have it. I immediately signed up to Guitar Center, had them order and ship the guitar to the Roseville store. It was there in a matter of days. With the gift card and some extra cash it was mine. I am not looking at any guarantee for Guitar Center. Their obligation was only to get the instrument delivered to me as shown in the photos. They performed that obligation without incident. I did ask on the way out how much for a 12 string set up. I was told right off the bat $200. Really GC, now I know where you really make your money, lol. I do buy my miscellaneous picks, strings, etc. from the local mom and pop stores but every once in a while Guitar Center will come up with a winner. I called first to get an appointment to see if they would be interested in selling a guitar for…read moreme. The employee told me to just come in before closing and they would look at it. I drove across town with the guitar and went inside. I stood by the counter and two or three employees walked by me without saying a word. Nate was there but he was talking to a different customer; he never even acknowledged my presence. Another longtime employee was at the counter and ignored me. I stood there about five minutes when a really nice employee helped me. He interrupted Nate to ask about my guitar and Nate said without even looking at me, even though I was 6 feet away, "I'm with a buyer, so not today." It was super demeaning. It made me feel small. The nice employee was apologetic and said, Nate makes those decisions, and that he was sorry. I told him that I did call first and was told to come down.I think he was embarrassed too. I have bought and sold several guitars and pieces of equipment at Willie's. Never again.

Really wanted to be happy with them and that is actually how it started. Brought first guitar in…read more(Taylor) and had a new nut installed. They also did a set up. Plays much nicer no issue! Second guitar (Martin) split in top due to Minnesota winters even though I had two humidifiers in closed case. Repair took well over a month but looked great. I added another humidifier they recommended and sold me. Then two months into winter of 2018 same thing again- just a few months after repair. I called to see if they would fix, the answer yes but no guarantee on work so full price again! No plan to return! Martin actually has a life time warranty on their guitars which was notified by the clients they installed. Should have sent it to them but did not want to wait. Ended up waiting anyway and getting a poor repair.

Well, I don't really care if it's your policy or not, that's what happened. So, to get my guitar back, I need to pay them AGAIN, SIX MONTHS AFTER THE FACT. This is nothing but fraud. They excuse it saying they don't have a full-time tech. That's fine, but if you don't have adequate staff, DON'T TAKE NEW BUSINESS. I need my guitar fixed, and I need it done for free.
