If you like being ignored, this is the place for you.
My sister and I shop organic at home, so this shop appeared promising. We happily pay more to support healthy gardening back home in the US. The employyes were helpful and informative. we Visited en route to Kew Botanic gardens.
Unfortunately, the Owner/manager was entirely unhelpful.
We asked about wines, she had no clue. She opened 2 bottles of juice for sampling, then offered none to us but only to her employees and... People she deemed worthy?
In the end we purchased a few items, and her employees were quite helpful. but given her attitude and refusal to be hospitable or acknowledge our presence by offering anything more than a cold stare... we left with many fewer items than planned.
bottom line: Would have happily purchased more had the owner expressed a passing interest in being pleasant or attentive.
Recommendation: get takeout food from the Railway restaurant. Great service, tasty food, good prices.
Also, the employees in the coffee shop down the street, on way to gardens, were more than happy to help and Answer questions, so this is not a pervasive attitude of Richmond shopkeepers (thank goodness). read more
