I grew up hearing stories about the drunken escapades of my uncles and dad at Tater Hill (and other…read morefine drinking establishments in the area). Even my Mom remembers having to drag her father out of this place when she was young. I'd driven by Tater Hill countless times, but I had never been there. It's a small, nondescript building on a state route otherwise lined with houses and farms. It's the middle of nowhere. There's not even a sign outside. It looks like a storage building or something. Just driving by, you'd never know if it was open or not. You'd never even know it was a bar. You wouldn't be compelled to stop there unless maybe your car was on fire or you were being chased by zombies and wre desperate to get inside, perhaps. No one is going here unless they live nearby. This is a place for local dudes drinking beers, and nothing else. Yelp ratings have zero impact on a place like Tater Hill. This is mostly written for my entertainment. Features include a warped pool table, and a dart board. and local dudes drinking their beers. The address appears to be 10212 State Route 113, Berlin Heights, OH 44814. It's just East of Wright Road. Man, this place is ROUGH. or whatever one step beyond rough might be. I love hole in the wall divey bars, but this was the diviest of the dives. Sticky and/or broken and/or mismatched bar stools. Didn't look like it had been cleaned much over the years. Years of cobwebs and dirt in the windows. Margarita glasses that haven't seen a margarita in years and covered in dust. It smelled like someone has been smoking cigarettes there for 60 years straight and never stopped once. My curiosity was satisfied. I will never forget Tater Hill because (1) it has a great name; and (2) it was the grungiest place I've ever been. Despite everything, I bet a LOT of weird shit goes down at Tater Hill. I have the distinct feeling that any crimes that occur at Tater Hill are never reported. I wish they had a webcam for public viewing. I'd happily watch (from afar).

So, it was quite the surprise to have found this local establishment in the little town where Thomas Edison was born. Well the food was good, the service was on point, and Ambience was clean and homey feeling. I really liked the vibe this place had. Their specialties are their burgers. Cant go wrong with them. Although I ordered a T-Bone steak. The seasoning was good. But, there was something about the choice of meat that didn't set right with me. Just my opinion. We came here twice in a weekend. We'll come back the next time we're in town.

The Wonder Bar had a great environment, people were friendly, and had some good specials up on the board. The place was well kept and really clean. We got the famous steak burgers and chicken sandwhich as well as some onion rings. The burgers were good and the fries were yummy, I would ask for them to be extra crispy next time. I got bacon on my burger which was a bit soft so I would ask for that to be crispy as well but the burger Pattie's themselves were super yum! The onion rings were a bit of a let down for me and the portion was not super big to share. This place is cute and has a lot of charm and there's something on the menu for everyone! I also love that they have TV's to watch the games on. If you're in the area definitely stop in!

If you're craving a juicy burger and/or tasty wings while in Sandusky, Main Street Tavern…read moredefinitely has to be on your list. We came during peak dinner hours and waited ~20 minutes for a table, which wasn't bad. The place isn't too large, and given how good the food is, I can see why there could be a wait. We decided on the jalapeno poppers (June special), onion rings, lemon pepper wings, and two burgers with fries (BBQ ranch jalapeno burger - June special, Hot N' Spicy burger) all to share. Plenty of food for 2 adults and 2 kids to share! We all agreed everything was delicious. The poppers come out super hot, so definitely wait a little to bite into them. Onion rings perfectly cooked and crispy. Wings were plump and had good lemon flavor to them. Both burgers were juicy, but of the two enjoyed the Hot N' Spicy more. Service is friendly and attentive. Parking is available in a small lot directly next to the restaurant or along the street.

She let us know what they were known for (wings and burgers and their rotating specials) and gave my indecisive mind plenty of time to figure out what I wanted. Everything sounded so good! We settled for the golden bbq wings and classic pretzel bites for appetizers. The wings were great and that sauce was delicious! Wish we could find something similar in Seattle. The pretzel bites were good but we were already getting full. He got the Uncle Charlie burger which he liked but said it was a bit messy. He also said the maple sauce on it was unique and a little overpowering. I built my own burger and kept it simple with mayo, lettuce, grilled onions and cheddar. It was really good but I wish I didn't get so full on appetizers so I could finish it. I really liked the pickles that they served as a garnish. A little sweet and spicy action going on. Also the fries are hot and crispy and some of my favorite I've had anywhere. I wish this gem was in Seattle. It seems like a great place to grab a seat at the bar and watch sports on their televisions. They also have some tables available if you want to sit there too. I also liked that one of the tv's showed pictures of their specials. I wish I could go back and try some of their other items. The wraps and sandwiches looked really tasty and I love the uniqueness of some of their combos. If you're in the area and want some delicious food served with a friendly smile, stop in. You won't be disappointed.
