When I could no longer deny my need for a haircut, I investigated a couple of local salons. One had much better reviews on Yelp than the other, so my choice was clear. I am very happy that I found this salon. Franck and Nathalie are lovely, and I was happy with the hair cuts and color treatments that I had over the year. My hair is very fine and needs a good cut to look like it has any style at all, and Franck had the right touch. Between my reasonably good French and Franck's reasonably good English, communication was easy enough. Franck also threw in some French language coaching for free. Even if you only speak English, I think you will manage here.

Richard Cervo, right near the Villiers Metro in the southern 17eme, was a great find. My wife and I both now get our hair cut with Mr Cervo. He's friendly, and although he doesn't speak much English (and my French is only so-so), we're able to get the job done, every time. 20 euro -- in Paris, this can't be beat

Okay, I literally RAN out of this salon in the middle of him doing my hair…read more I have long curley hair, it's about six inches past my shoulders when straight. I asked him for simply a wash & blow dry. THAT IS IT. I came earlier for my appointment and no one was there, he was finishing up on a woman's pixie cut and started on me. He took a fine tooth comb to my hair, which you don't for Curley hair. After one hour I thought it was over and he goes to wash my hair again! Now two and a half hours later I thought he would start and he puts me to wait longer, then tries to "detangle" my hair again. So I left wet hair in the chair and all, then he charges me 40€ for being tortured for three hours because he gave me these extra treatments THAT I DID NOT ASK FOR. All I wanted was a wash and blow dry. He's telling me I should get a relaxer or textirizer.. So, if you have NATURAL hair DO NOT come here! It's for short hair or people who do chemicals. HE RIPPED OUT MY HAIR!

After living here for a year, finally finding stylists who understand black hair felt like running into a familiar friend. Stylists speak English and French so I encourage everyone: black or white, French or American, to check this place out. I take a 2 hour train ride into the city to get my hair done here, and I would still make the trip if it took me twice as long, because there is a level of thoughtfulness that goes into Mr. Clement's work that you just won't find anywhere else. Great people, great place, great salon.
