I can't recommend Mindy enough! We hired her for a kitchen remodel and new LVP floors throughout the house, and she delivered beautiful results within budget and a week early. Mindy was thoughtful in her design and took time to learn the style we were going for. She is efficient and organized, and a great communicator; Mindy sent project updates, revised calendars, and an updated budget every week. The team she works with is fantastic, they always arrived on time, left the job site clean, and completed quality work. They all very much respect Mindy, and that carries over into their craftsmanship. Mindy's pricing is very reasonable, she has designer discounts with almost all vendors, and she is great at providing options at different price points. Remodels aren't a picnic, especially when you're living at home during the construction. That said, Mindy made the process as smooth as possible. She gave us a very detailed idea of what to expect, told us exactly what we needed to pack up and when, and expertly scheduled her subs to complete the project efficiently. Working with Mindy was the best decision I could have made! After 18 years as a rental, my house needed a complete remodel, from top to bottom. All the floor, cabinets, counters...everything needed updating. Several people recommended I call Mindy, and I am sure glad I did. I called Mindy after seeing her work in a friend's home and hearing about how great she is to work with. I wondered if anyone could possibly create beauty out of the mishmash of styles my "decor" featured. Well...she did it. Mindy's eye is fantastic as is her ability to envision a project. But what I really admire is her ability to organize me, corral my disjointed ideas, and create a gorgeous outcome well within my budget. I can't get over the difference Mindy's design made in our master bedroom. It went from outdated to modern in 5 days and on a budget. What's even more impressive is the fact that my stoic, somewhat occasionally cynical husband used the words, "Gorgeous and classy." He is one hard guy to impress. We had moved into our house several years ago and the house was 20 years old and with all original everything. We just hadn't made time for the bedroom facelift yet. I originally was asking Mindy to help with a loft and full bathrooms that we were putting in and figured we could just do a test run on my room. It was a much smaller project and I was so thankful for her enthusiasm - even though we started with a much smaller effort. We changed paint color, lamps, and curtains. The most noticeable changes, along with fresh, modern paint color, were the baseboards and framed out windows and doors. WOW! We just can't get over the difference. She is an excellent partner to collaborate with. She asked all the right questions. Not only did she understand that I was on a budget, but she planned all of her design decisions with that in mind. Budget or not, you'd never know. Everything was elegant. She has a real eye for color and style. Mindy really LISTENED to everything I said. She never tried to talk me into buying anything that didn't make sense. I have older bedroom furniture and wasn't prepared to replace it quite yet. And I loved my all white bedding. She effortlessly planned around things that I was still attached to. Besides her eye for design and her willingness to keep me on budget, I was incredibly impressed with her crew. Everyone I met was the utmost professional. I most highly recommend Mindy and her whole team. I'd give another 5 stars just for the fact that she NEGOTIATED on my behalf, too. She sought out multiple quotes for everything. She told me what things I could do myself to save money and where she could help me the most. We love Mindy! After interviewing several designers and contractors for our home remodel, we decided to go with Mindy of Olivenhain Design, and we are SO glad that we did! We had a general vision of what we wanted (coastal, with whites, grays, and blues; new "wood" flooring, new carpeting, paint throughout the house, updated bathrooms, including cabinets, and pretty much an entirely new kitchen except for some appliances -- see photos above!), but we had no idea how to carry it out. From the initial meeting, she was engaging and listened carefully to our thoughts. Mindy then helped us schedule appointments at local businesses to choose our countertops, sinks, flooring, carpeting, and lighting. She attended the meetings to offer her thoughts and help us make decisions, which was incredibly helpful! She has great working relationships with several businesses and contractors who she trusts and who work hard for her and her clients. She worked with us to schedule every step of the process with the remodel and meticulously scheduled all of the teams around our schedule best as she could, with most of the work occurring while we were out of town for several days. This was a life saver! We even gave her a deadline because our family was coming to stay with us for our daughter's wedding and boy did they work hard to get it done. Most of our remodel took place within about 6 weeks during the summer, which is incredible! Undertaking a remodel like this produced a lot of dust and a bit of stress with the volume of decisions that needed to be made. I would give Mindy 1,000 stars if I could! She just completed our kitchen renovation, and we are thrilled with the results. Mindy was amazing to work with from start to finish. Before calling her, we had a vague sense of what we liked, but we did not trust ourselves to actually coordinate paint colors, counter tops, tile, flooring, sink, faucet, hardware, etc. We gave Mindy a general idea of what we were envisioning, and she ran with it from there, steering us in the right direction and eventually giving us a kitchen that is more beautiful than we'd ever imagined! Mindy is the absolute BEST. I relocated to Carlsbad from LA and hired Mindy as my Interior Designer to redo the kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, and interior painting before I moved in. She transformed my very dated home into a warm, beautiful, relaxing environment where I can enjoy inviting my grandkids over. Mindy took care of everything while I was still in LA and would call with updates and questions. She not only came in below my initial budget, but she was extremely professional and detail oriented who made the entire process painless!
