I'm not a sandwich person, but my 16 year old is, and I wanted something I could eat to-go. You can smell the scent of yummy as you walked into the door. It appears to be a gourmet grocery store, specializing in sushi grade seafood, pasta from Italy, fancy cheeses, meats, caviar, and sodas from around the country. They had diet Cheerwine, even. I've never seen so many different root beers in one place- there was even a pumpkin root beer! There wasn't a BLT on the menu, but they custom made one for my son, and he added pesto and provolone. He declared it the best BLT ever, and knocked his favorite sandwich place back home to second place. I had the Thanksgiving everyday. A $16 buck sandwich, I was skeptical it wasn't going to live up to its price point. However, it was worth every cent. It was turkey, goat cheese, and homemade cranberry sauce on sourdough, and grilled panini style on a press. The turkey was sliced fresh- everything was made fresh. The taste was absolutely amazing. I live in California, but hate most sourdough bread, because that tang tastes spoiled. You don't have that weird taste with Cheese and Crackers sourdough bread- it's just delicious toasted buttered bread. It was the right texture and made it crunch. The crew appeared very hardworking and enjoyed their jobs. We were greeted kindly, and felt welcome. I use a walker, and was able to navigate the store, but note the space is kinda small. Since I don't live here, I'm going to do my best to recreate my sandwich at home. Cheese and Crackers- thanks for teaching me about a delicious flavor combination, and for providing an enjoyable epicurean experience.

The one caveat is that menu items off of the set menu can not just be ordered. For exampl, you cannot just order the arancini balls anymore-- which is one of my faves. This was a smidge disappointing if you don't want to order from the set menu portion. The regular menu has some options but not all that they used to. The food was good per usual just this change up threw us off!

We were greeted at the door by the host who opened the door and welcomed us inside. He quickly seated us and we were then greeted by one of the waitstaff who offered us tap water or sparkling water while we waited for our server. We ordered sparkling water and our server came right over and greeted us and took care of us throughout our dining experience. The ambiance of the restaurant is very pleasant, dark wood decor, lovely dining music playing. There were only a couple of other tables with customers so it was a pretty relaxed setting, but u can imagine this would be a lovely date night spot or group dinner venue. We enjoyed our dishes (pictures included) and unlike other Italian restaurants that often provide huge portions, these meals were appropriately portioned and filling. We also had the tiramisu for dessert; it was different than what we are accustomed too. Much more creamy and more like a pudding than a cake. Overall we enjoyed our experience and dinner!

The pizzas were perfection. Amazing crust. Delicious toppings. We had the Italian salad to share. The basil dressing was incredible. The cheese plate was better than we expected. Delicious cheeses. What I think was soft, warm pizza crust, fig preserves. Soooo good! We thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it. Apparently I lived in the moment and did not take a single photo!

4 star food, 1 star service…read more The food is great, no doubt. The pizzas are cooked in a super hot oven and are prepared in minutes. But the service, good lord. To start, there's never anyone in the hostess area to even acknowledge your arrival; it's a crapshoot as to how long it will take for your presence to be known. Next, the waitresses don't even know their own basic menu. The restaurant offers a low carb option in which your pizza is served on a bed of arugula instead of the typical dough, but each time I try to order this, they're unaware that this is an option, despite it being prominently displayed at the entrance of the restaurant. I eventually photographed this clearly listed option to show the dull servers that such is available, and thus avoid having to provide a verbal explanation each and every time I make this order. Again, this isn't some special, esoteric request; it is offered by the restaurant and listed on the signage overlooking the front counter. If this place hired servers who possessed some semblance of competence it would be a solid 5 out of 5. But they won't, and I'll still keep coming back because I'm an idiot who loves good low carb food, even if I have to suffer through stupidity to get it.

It IS a grocery store in that it has produce, a meat and seafood counter, as well as dry goods, refrigerated items and a robust set of upright freezer cases - mostly full of items not normally found in the US. They also carry many American staples when those are needed in a pinch, but the focus is clearly on what's not available anywhere else in the area. That said all the produce is top-notch and beautifully displayed/maintained. The meat/seafood selection fresh (and more so) frozen is pretty extensive, even down to how things are sliced and/or shaped. Then there's the bakery which is past the checkout lanes all the way at the far front-end of this place (which is the size of a large Aldi's). I'm pretty sure I saw a loaf of bread or two in the grocery areas, but they did not suggest the kind of exquisite baked goods on display when you enter the area - in both the grab your own area (croissants, bagels, donuts) and the counter glass case (fancy pastries). They're not cheap, but also fancier then you may even find at say Martinelli's and my creme-filled croissant was an epically delicious mess! Without burying the lead for some folks, because I was there around 9 AM, I didn't smell anything savory cooking yet, but behind the bakery are several more separate food stalls that make up a mini Asian food court for yummy things like noodles, bibimbap and ramen. I hope to come back and sample them soon.
