The beau and I arrived in Buenos Aires and were anxious to get to know the neighborhood where we were staying. Oli was recommended by our gracious host so we headed over. The first impression is a great one as you enter and see the bakery in full operation at the rear of the space. The staff is welcoming and very friendly. We were seated immediately as a table for two just happened to become available in this bustling restaurant. We ordered 2 Flat Whites for a caffeine boost, a Caesar salad, and club sandwich. The food arrived promptly and we dove in. The beau, a Caesar salad officianado, declared it was one of the best he's ever had! I bit into the sandwich which was savory and full of flavor and textures that made me swoon. The bread was light and crunchy, the fried egg runny, the bacon salty, and the sliced chicken tender. A perfect sandwich. It came with fries and a homemade tomato puree that was a million times better than ketchup. We were in ecstasy and it was only our first meal in this lovely city. We took two danish to go and ate them later at our apartment. Both were flaky and delicious with the perfect balance of sweet and savory. We absolutely loved Oli and are sure to go back during our visit. read more
