In June, they took 35 items to their consignment store. , Robbin came for a consultation at the very start. She also cleaned out my cold room of shelves of jars , which helped immensely. They were on call if we needed them for the move to Calgary, garbage dump or more consignment. Thank you for being on stand by, which made our move less stressful.

The two movers that came were professional and moved quickly, and the whole thing was done within a couple of hours. There was some confusion about the deposit, which I thought would be applied to the final bill, but was actually a separate charge. This was explained to me before the work started, and since I'd budgeted to spend more than the initial estimate, it wasn't a big problem for me. Just be aware if you're booking that this is part of their process. Ultimately, I felt like the money I spent was worth it because it saved me a lot of time and stress, and that was my priority. I'd definitely use them again. Update: I actually did use them again, two years later. Happy to report that my experience was just as positive the second time. And true to form, Cornell was a gentleman. My mother-in-law arrived to our new home just after we all arrived there. As Cornell was returning to the trailer to get more items to bring into the house, he greeted my mother-in-law, put his arm in hers, and carefully walked her to the front of the house around ice and snow. If I could give negative stars I would. The single worst moving experience I've ever had…read more The company was out if business and failed to disclose the information to me. I found out about it from the employees that were all laid off. Not only that but they severely damaged 2 of my leather couches and a coffee table and because I had them repaired (cause who can use damaged furniture) they denied the claim 900 dollars damaged, no recourse. Also the move was 1000 dollars more that the quote, but you don't know that until they have your belongings. Screwed once again. Multiple other damages that we did not see until it was too late. Stay away from this company. I would also stay away from Bekins moving and storage as they were the owners of this franchise, and their business practices and customer service would also be suspect.

When I called to find out where they were Dave the owner said that they often sleep in and couldn't get them to work for more than 3 weeks in a row. The movers got in an argument with my former building manager and my building manager claimed to see one guy scratch his arm and squeeze a bug out from under the skin. GROSS. When my stuff arrived the movers were extremely rude & unprofessional insisting they didn't have to wear masks so they piled my stuff up in the garage. Not wearing masks in a public space is not lawful never mind unprofessional. Each time I spoke to the owner Dave about his team he was difficult, defensive and didn't take accountability. He said moving is like fitness and working out in a gym, so masks don't need to be worn. During a global pandemic with two kids under 3 there's no excuse for this irrational & blatant disrespect.

I pointed it out to the owner, who fought me, not wanting to even ask the driver if it was still in the truck. He was supposed to call me back after he did, but after 7 full days, I had to reach out again. It's been another 3 days and he still hasn't responded. The owner claims that they take of everything to ensure that you and your items are taken care of, clearly that is not the case. Again, the movers are good and, if everything had arrived, I would've been happy. My issue is that one of my items didn't get delivered and the owner has ignored me and previously told me that it's not his problem. Definitely NOT Calgary's best moving.
