    On our most recent visit to New Orleans we stayed at Olde Town Inn for 1 night & for a whopping $56 per night we got to stay in an historic Creole style home that just added to our New Orleans experience! Yep, folks you read that right..we paid $56 for a hotel room in New Orleans off of Rampart Street! Staying in New Orleans was a last minute decision so we found the room on booking.com & I have to admit I was kind of nervous not really knowing what to expect w/ our room at Olde Town Inn especially w/ the price but once we checked in I was pleasantly surprised at the great deal we stumbled on & the hidden gem that is called Olde Town Inn!!! It's not your typical hotel so don't expect a Holiday Inn type or Marriott type traditional hotel..the Olde Town Inn is VERY New Orleans..meaning it has character, charm, lots of history, & just different. We stayed in room 1005 that had 7 beds in it (1 queen size bed & 6 twin beds). Helpful info: -There is free breakfast served in the courtyard open area -call hotel directly & get 10% off reservation To sum it up yes, for sure we are staying at Olde Town Inn when we return to New Orleans! -Rebecca out

    Stains all over the sheets. This is just ONE of them.

    Do not recommend staying here. Terrible area, terrible parking, nasty, not cleaned. There were hairs all over the bed, bugs everywhere, stunk, microwave was not cleaned at all, towels were black. As soon as I walked in, i immediately started itching. Terrible place to stay-- unless you don't like being cleaned.

    I would absolutely never stay here again. The only great thing I can say about this property is that the staff was great. You get what you pay for and this property was very old, outdated and dirty. I was fooled by the other reviews.

    Reading some of the other reviews, I get the impression some folk just don't understand New Orleans! If you want a sterile box to stay at, go to the Ramada in Portland, Oregon. If you want a fantastic Nawlins experience, at a price you can afford, in just about the perfect location, five minutes walk from Frenchman, then stay here. Yes, it has it's quirks, but look around you! You are in New Orleans! The whole city is one big quirk, and could "use a little fixing up". If you "get" Nawlins, you will love this place, I garontee. Oh, and it's dog friendly ($15/night surcharge) and has available secure off street parking ($10/night).

    DO NOT BE FOOLED BY NICE PICTURES. Booked this place, checked in and IMMEDIATELY CHECKED OUT. Room smells like cigarettes, blinds hung to the wall with duck tape, stains and chew marks on the walls, and restaurant kitchen cleaning towels as bath towels. Air conditioner so caked with mold it was landing on the sink.

    This is my new Vacation house! If your prissy and want a boring sterile room move along you won't be happy here and I don't want to run into you at breakfast. Ginger at the front desk is like your college RA, she gives good advice and helps figure out what ever drama pops up during your stay. I'm sorry I can't tell you the name of their Handyman, but he's like the thoughtful uncle that buys you a cup for baseball when your single mom is clueless about such things. This is a Gay owned business, which means it's Gay friendly (what business in NOLA isn't) and the Gay's that were staying there while I was there just gushed over the place, if you don't know what that means, the translation is this place ranks very VERY high on charm. I met a couple from Berlin, 2 frat boys from Australia , a pair from Chesapeake bay area, all in the breakfast party patio, during our 4 day stay. They are moderately priced and even have a lay-a-way plan for your reservation. In times like these that's #1 thoughtful, & #2 brilliant. The only reason why I give it 4 1/2, instead of 5 stars, is they serve atrocious coffee at breakfast. But from my experience it's the city water used in the coffee that makes it bad. They should make a better effort on the coffee by using filtered water and serving real half & half. We solved this problem with our own instant Starbucks & cream. It's close to most everything you want to do in NOLA, and being nestled in the Marigny it gives you the feel of really living in NOLA. I highly recommend to any adventurous soul, and I will return again, and again, and again.

    Unbelievable deal!! Couldn't be happier. Had to get a room, as my buddy's air conditioner went out. Got two nights on Bookings.com for around $135 after tax. AC blows COLD!! Service was incredible. Breakfast is nothing to write home about, but you're in New Orleans, don't eat hotel breakfast. Go get something good. Will definitely be back. Eat at Kebab just around the corner on St. Claude, as well.

    Would have given 2 1/2 stars if possible. The concept and the public areas of this inn are very nice. The breakfast area was cool with all the knick knacks. The staff was very nice and helpful upon check-in and checkout. Rooms could have been cleaner and more updated. We found trash that had been left in the drawers and an empty water bottle under the bed. Not horribly bad but just needed some work. The area is cool and within walking distance to many neat places.

    Let me start by saying that the 2 ladies at the front desk were both very friendly and sweet , that's the last positive thing I have to say about this dump. I have included photos of the filth of the room , they should speak for themselves. There is literally no heat except for a very small space heater that stopped working. The walls , baseboards and floors were filthy which is odd being that they said they just CLEANED our room . This is not old world charm it's simply a dump. My socks stuck to the floor it was so sticky . The continental breakfast consisted of cold sausage , cold hard boiled eggs and a waffle maker . There were some toast and bagels thrown in . We paid a little over $300 a night to stay at what I would imagine those hotels by the hour look like . The pictures they have posted are deceiving , my photos are the real thing. I was not allowed to cancel after seeing the accommodations not being to my standard and soo as not to have to pay for 2 places we stayed . I don't think I have ever been so disgusted by a room as I was this one . I literally would like to bathe in bleach to remove the dirt I feel may follow me home .

    DO NOT STAY HERE! Lady at front desk is RUDE, we got here at 3:30pm when check in is clearly stated at 3pm. They gave us the keys but Room was nowhere near ready, trash everywhere, undone beds, dirty bathroom & floors. Of course we came back downstairs to complain & address the issue, she said we had to just wait until it was ready, which she didn't know what time it would be. We asked for our money back, she said no. That if we wanted a better place we should've pad $1,000 somewhere else!! This is ridiculous because we're still paying almost $300 a night!

Great location, great price, great staff, and great views if you choose the garden. We spent two nights, one before and one after a cruise with Carnival. We arrived in town a few hours before checking and the accommodated us wonderfully! They had a room ready and waiting for us 2 hours before checking in! Then upon arriving back from our cruise we arrived back and port and off the boat by 8:30 am. Our plan was to check our bags in and walk around until check in. The man at the front desk said absolutely not, checked us in upon arrival at 9 am at no extra cost, and allowed my boys and I to rest from the lack of sleep we had from the night before because of rocky seas. This hotel is the personification of "if you respect the staff they will respect you"! Like all old buildings and those that have seen the hurricane in 2005, the hotel has its issues. We did have toilet running and cold shower issues, but to me this was a small price to pay for the respect and kindness the staff showed us during our stay! I highly recommend and hands down one of the best hotels in NOLA. This is my new hotel whenever I stay in New Orleans going forward!

There were 3+ cockroaches hanging out near the tub and a few scurried away before we could kill/photograph them. The next morning we went to the front desk, got our refund and switched hotels. Front desk staff was AWESOME, so kind and quick to help us. However, after we asked to cancel our stay and went back up to the room to get our bags and leave, one of the hotel housekeepers decided to come up to our room and "confront us". She wanted us to show her the cockroaches (that we had killed and flushed) and tried telling us she's never seen a cockroach at Hotel Le Marais before, basically calling us liars. Lol, well, here's some pictures to prove it. Let's ask the audience. Positives: The front desk staff was exceptional. Very helpful, very kind and knowledgeable. It's located close to Bourbon and has a nice courtyard. Negatives: ROACHES IN THE ROOMS, confrontational housekeeper, thin walls.

    We booked this hotel based on the Yelp & Google reviews and Reddit recommendations…read more The only PRO of staying here is the location. It is very conveniently located to Bourbon Street. The 2 things I care most about when staying in a hotel is a comfortable night's rest and a good bathroom/shower. The bed in our room was the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on in my entire life. It was so mushy that when you laid your head down, you sunk so far into it that your legs were literally 45 degrees above your head. I ended up sleeping upside down in the bed with my head where your feet go in order to feel even remotely comfortable. The pillows were all extremely flat, when you put your head on one it sank so far your face was about 1/2 inch from the mattress. I had to use 3 pillows stacked on each other. I had a stiff back, neck and joints the entire time we were there. The 2nd issue was hot water. The first morning, we attempted to shower, it only got barely luke warm for me and when my husband showered immediately after he only got ice cold water. We stopped at the front desk that morning on our way out for the day and told the woman at the front desk. She said she hadn't received any other complaints so it must be specific to our room and she would send engineering there to look at it. (we were getting hot water in the sink). Later that evening when we returned to our room, we immediately tested the shower again and it was still ice cold. So we went back to the front desk to check if engineering had come. We spoke to the same woman from the morning who acted like it was the first time we were telling her this and she said the exact same thing. I asked if they were going to come ASAP because we needed to shower soon and we couldn't take ice cold showers. She ignored my question and answered the ringing phone. A manager happened to be at the desk and overheard our conversation. He asked what our room number was and said that because of the old building and the pipes the hot water takes longer to get there. He said this was a KNOWN Issue by the staff, management and the owner. He told us to run the shower for AT LEAST 15 to 20 minutes, simultaneously with the sink and it should get hot. He also offered to move us to a different room but when I asked if he could guarantee if we wouldn't have the same problem in that room he couldn't give me a straight answer. We had already unpacked everything and didn't want to go through that hassle without a guarantee. So we went back to the room and let it run for 20 minutes and it eventually got hot. So for the remaining 3 mornings, we had to set our alarms for 30 minutes earlier so we could get up and run our shower before hand. For nearly $300 a night, we felt that this was ridiculous. Old building or not, if its a problem, then either don't put people in those rooms, or get it fixed somehow. Why should anyone be subjected to an ice old shower or an inconvenience to their time because the owner hasn't done anything about it? We visited the hotel Bar, the Bourbon O'bar 3 times during our stay and each time we received TERRIBLE service. None of the bartenders were friendly to us, in fact they were pretty rude. Each time it took them at least 10 minutes to even take our order (by standing there and looking at us and not saying anything). The bar was not busy or crowded any of these times. They would then start making one of our drinks, put it down and make other people's drinks, leave and go into a back room, play on their cell phone, talk to each other, or carry the glass around while doing other things. My husband ordered an old fashioned and the alcohol was sitting in the jar with the ice for over 5 minutes while the bartender carried it around doing other things, causing it to get watered down. When making a cocktail, it should be completed from start to finish without doing other things in the middle. I ordered the Mardi Drop cocktail on 2 different days. The first time, it was actually very good. The 2nd time from a different bartender it was horrible .He also sprinkled probably a tablespoon of cinnamon on top of it (which the first didn't have) which made it nearly undrinkable. I had to stir it into the martini in order to not get a mouthful of cinnamon with each sip. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant Roux because of the bad Yelp reviews - we felt we could get a better breakfast elsewhere outside the hotel. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all unless you don't care about being comfortable or friendly service.

At check-in the rep asked "did you mean to book that room?" Yes we did!! We originally requested a 3rd floor private balcony but were given a 4th floor private balcony and oh hell yea was this perfect. Open the French doors and the cacophony of Bourbon St. envelopes the room; it's everywhere. But close the French doors and it's quiet; how I don't know but perfectly comfortably quiet for us. Added bonus, this being Easter, our 4th floor balcony gave us such a fantastic viewing spot to watch the colorful sights coming down Bourbon heading to the gay Easter parade a few blocks away. Our room also gave us a great vantage point for watching sunrise with the St.Louis Cathedral steeple in the foreground. On our final night we decided to order take-out to enjoy from our balcony; dinner and a show essentially, and cheaper too. Hotel is centrally located on Bourbon, wonderfully friendly and helpful staff, complimentary coffee available around 6am (big plus given it's normally 7am everywhere else) made this a perfect hotel for us.

Then I was told that the hotel had a new system and they are working out the bugs. Then I get a call from the hotel asking if I would approve them to hold out the parking fee. I still haven't gotten my money credited back to my account. Save yourself the aggravation and the mental anguish....find another hotel.

It's like that saying putting lipstick on a pig to make it look presentable. The highlight was the mini beignets being served in the lobby area which my son loved ! That was a plus! The bed was comfortable too. If visiting again, I would do better research of hotels regardless of "name".

Robbie especially cracked me up; so much personality! We booked a Premium room in the Hermann House across the street, which was spacious and comfortable. It has a beautiful brick courtyard. There's a pool at the main hotel across the street; could use a little greenery to spruce it up. Was a little concerned by the negative reviews, but we had a very enjoyable stay.

There is this raggy musty couch that seems "damp" for lack of better word, which I wouldn't even touch. Rug seems nasty. There is a sign saying "enjoy your two artisan waters " and there are no waters here. The room phone doesn't work so If we need anything have to walk downstairs. The view is of nothing, but worst part is AC is on 60 degrees and we are sweating in here. It's not really blowing and would estimate it's about 75 in here . They are "sending someone " to fix ac but now we have to wait for this to happen and can't shower or get ready. Will update review if they make things right .
