Surrounded by old, moss draped oaks, the exterior of house itself has a Mediterranean appeal with barrel tile roofs, an elegant courtyard, and architectural details original to the property. There's an authenticity here. It begins with Amy, the owner and our tour guide, who has orchestrated the property's renovations with painstaking care. Every room opens like a diorama, where somehow she has managed to add new warmth and interest while letting the old patina shine through. It is a fascinating place, and my granddaughter and I loved walking the grounds after the tour. We couldn't have felt more welcome today, and we look forward to coming back to Sydonie Mansion in December when it sparkles for Christmas!

Guilford Davis Clifford, a native of Roam, New York, staked his claim in Florida for roughly $125 and made a fortune in the citrus business. The Clifford House is an 18-room 4,500 square-foot neo-classical structure. Inside, you will find beautiful Propecia Florida Cypress and Heart of Pine Floors; immaculately kept mahogany, cedar, and oak furniture; original handmade clothing, light fixtures, cast plumbing fixtures, dining ware; historical documents, photographs, and portraits. One of our favorite parts of the tour was the six fireplaces (made from "kits" at $12-each) featuring beautiful imported Italian tile, oak, mahogany, and tiger-wood mantles. If you want to take a step back in time to see how things used to be in the late 19th early 20th century, plan a day trip to Eustis and stop into the Eustis Historical Museum; it is a must-see! Our first trip to Mount Dora was wonderful on its own, but the addition of a ghost tour on our last…read morenight made the whole thing epic. We arrived at the meeting location at 8 PM as instructed, where Doctor Professor Hannibal Merripen (or "Doc") introduced himself and learned all our names. Doc was just the perfect mix of dry humor and local knowledge. He also had impeccable comedic timing. He showed us his case of portions and powders, and then handed out our ghost detecting devices, one per group. For the next 2 1/2 hours, we walked through the streets of Mount Dora (which one longer stop in the lobby of the Lakefront Hotel), learning some of the history of the town, as well as stories of residents and visitors who departed this earth a bit too soon, but still lingered in shops, hotels, or streets. Mount Dora is an open container town, so cocktails in plastic cups were permitted. Wear comfy shoes for the hills, and bug spray is recommended (it was warm but pleasant, but we experienced some little stinging midges - seasonal but not super fun.) Thank you for the best night! Even our 14 year loved it and Doc kept him engaged (even commenting that if the teenager took out his AirPods right away so he knew he was doing a good job). Also check out the Paranormal Experience in the historic Donnelly House. It promises to be a combination of a ghost tour and an escape room. Spooky!

Our guide was amazing and provided a lot of information about the Mount Dora area. My husband had a blast operating the boat. They go very fast, but drive smooth. Nobody in our group wore a life vest, but they do offer them if you're interested. This was an amazing time and we're already thinking of when to come back.

Once you check in you grab a seat wherever your assigned seat is on the train. There is a brief play of the beginning of the movie. Then you board the train and the fun begins. I highly recommend this. Me and my wife don't have kids and I should've expected that this was more of a kids thing. However we both enjoyed it thoroughly. The polar express is one of my favorite Christmas movies and these guys really brought it to life.
