I took my wife to Olde Boston's for Mother's Day brunch! This was our first visit to the restaurant and it could not have gone better. We arrived at 12:30 and were promptly seated, which was amazing given it was Mother's Day. They had extra seating setup and extra staff . The food was fantastic, great ham, eggs, hash browns. A plethora of desserts to choose from , I had the pecan pie, my wife had the coconut cream pie. We plan on going back soon to sample their normal menu. read more

Wife an myself went an ate breakfast the first time before they got the breakfast buffet. The breakfast burger was the best!!! Never have been there an had a bad experience, the staff is always nice an in the spot asking if we needed anything. The environment is relaxing a the other diners very respectful. They need a beer list telling you about the craft beers. Bartender was not old enough to drink. She told that it was a larger. When to untapped and all the pictures showed a normal larger color. And she gave me a very dark ale. But the chicken was amazing. read more

This place has a very large menu and has an outstanding server. We had a party of over 20 people and she was able to do a magnificent job keeping everyone happy. The food was ok most everyone liked the food. We went there after a funeral and it was nice to have a server that was so attentive. Please allow me to set the record straight - this place is the real deal! Great service with just the right amount of attention from the wait staff. Timely food service - not too long or too short and the food was on point! If you've never had broasted chicken before, please give it a try. It is similar to fried chicken, but the meat is so much juicer- even the white meat! I will certainly be back to try other menu items. Let this restaurant be your first stop if you are looking for elevated bar and grill type food. This is definitely a cut above. Enjoy! read more

Went here while on break from jury deliberations. Nice and quiet at the time, good food and nice staff.

This evening I was back in my hometown and wanted a table for 8 at 6 pm. Like a normal personal, I called for a reservation at a competitor and was told they were "really good at seating people". As my aunts and uncles were over 80, I chose to pursue a different option. Olde Boston's made my reservation and we had fantastic food and event better service. I wish I would have caught server's name-- she had vaguely red pigtails-- but she was highly professional and personable and made our experience. My steak sandwich was cooked absolutely perfectly medium rare. Could not ask for more. Will go back next time I go home! read more

This place is nice is you want to dress up and have drinks. Their mixed drinks have good prices and taste great. I would say their food is subpar. I've had pizza and a sandwich here and both were not that awesome. Edible. But I wouldn't choose it again. The atmosphere is good and I love the brick wall inside. I stopped into this establishment on April 8th around 4:30. Being in Fort Dodge for work, I've never been to this restaurant. Right away, I was totally put off by the staff. Two employees were eating at the bar while having a conversation about parties and not wanting to be at work, all peppered with swear words. The food, was pretty darn ok. A 7 out of 10. The problem being, I had to ask once for silverwear at first, then had to ask for salt and pepper, and had to ask for water. None of this was offered and the waitress appeared really annoyed at my putting her out... Will not be coming back again. read more

They let us order food at 10:10pm even though the kitchen had already closed. Everything was excellent and the service was fantastic. This is probably the best restaurant in Fort Dodge. It was open late and has a huge bar. The menu is great and they have everything from salmon to grilled cheese burgers. Anything can be modified and the beer pitchers are incredibly cheap! read more

A little dingy in here. It feels like they spent some money on renovations (like the TVs) but couldn't afford the whole restaurant (booths are old). Also, the buffalo chicken flatbread upset my stomach less than an hour later. They also have a lunch deal like MIneral City, but it's $6.49 for 2 items or $7.49 for 3. It's a really large restaurant shaped like a U, where one side is mainly pool tables, and there's also an upstairs for private parties. read more

Olde Boston's servers are without a doubt....OUTSTANDING!!! The food specials are some of the best in town. My favorite sandwich has to be the BOOM burger! ;The half price appetizers and flat breads on Thursdays plus their two for one martini drink specials make for a fun place to hang with friends. My husband and I are in town for business, and decided to eat here after seeing its Google rating was a whopping 4 stars. It certainly is not a 4, or even 1 star establishment. When I asked for water, our waitress (dark brown hair, younger side of middle-age) brought me a glass but not for my husband. If you want water, everyone at the table needs to speak up. The staff tends to stand around the bar and gossip. My husband, being conversational, asked what kind of beers they had on draught and asked about a particular label on one of the taps. Our waitress was clearly not familiar with their beers and said flatly, "I have no idea what one you're talking about." My husband ended up picking one randomly from the menu. The menu should have been a red flag as it was fairly unimpressive. I ordered the blackened Cajun salmon and my husband ordered the blackened Cajun chicken sandwich. One Google review stated that they received food poisoning, and I understand why: my salmon was raw in the middle. Not flaky pink like it should be, but raw-textured & dark colored, surrounded by a 1/4" halo of pink cooked salmon. My husband's sandwich was literally a piece of chicken on a plain bun, and he described it as a "salt sandwich" since the seasoning was simply Lawry's salt that had been seared on, the Cajun part was completely lost (and the same technique was used on the salmon). We were polite and pointed out my salmon, and asked for the check for the drinks and sandwich (even though my husband did not eat it all). The waitress was not apologetic. We did not ask to speak to a manager, but in the end our waitress acted as though nothing had happened. The whole experience was very underwhelming and disappointing. The atmosphere was decent, and I think the place could be something with a change in management, staff, and menu. read more

Ate here while in town to visit someone in the hospital ... Both myself and another in my party became sick shortly after leaving ! Both throwing up and one was sick for the entire next day from puking so much ! Both of us were completely fine before we ate and after puked a few times I felt fine. Made several attempts to call and were told management was not available . Decided to confront the manager in person . The owners son (manager) simply said " they must've had the flu ". Stopped down Saturday night for supper. Daughter loves the wontons and made a meal out them. I had the night's special which was steak and shrimp with a salad and a side for $17, good price for a filling meal. Food is good, good specials during the week. Lost stars because of double-dipping on the tip. Used credit card to pay for meal and left a 3 dollar cash tip with the signed receipt that clearly had 0.00 in the tip blank. When credit statement arrived the charge for Olde Boston was 3 bucks more than the charge! Now I pay cash and tip a quarter along with a note in the folder as to why. read more

Pretty good menu and food was delicious. Great variety of martinis. That being said horrible service, several people walk right by us standing at the door including the apparent general manager. Once we were seated server forgot our food order twice and had to come back and ask what it was again that we ordered! The general manager walks around looking pissed off and not friendly at all, 2 weeks later we were at another place in town (which happens to be a sister store of this restaurant) and saw him with several other people bein extremly loud, belligerent and drinking excessively while snapping fingers and yelling from their table for the bartender. After seeing that I see why he looks mad at work, he'd rather be out drinking. This place has great food but is ruined by horrible management and service. read more

This was the worst restaurant I've ever been to. We had a larger party of 8 and our waitress was extremely rude. The restaurant wasn't packed and we understood that large party's aren't fun so we understood her frustration. However, we never got some of the food that came with the meals and had to ask 3 different times for desserts- she'd take one order and leave, take another and leave ect. She also never refilled our drinks. The best part however was when she was talking to the bartender about how awful we were and the bar was maybe 3 feet away from us. I've never experienced such awful customer service and I do understand how working can be hard sometimes (having waited tables myself). The food was decent but I'd never go back because I don't enjoy people talking about me at all but especially where I can hear it and where I'm someone paying to be there. read more

What a HORRIBLE experience this was. I will NEVER go back. First of all for such a nice looking restaurant, the bathroom, was disgusting. I don't think it had been cleaned in a week, the garbage was overflowing and two of the toilets didn't work. The dining experience was just as miserable. Our server was absolutely awful. She couldn't answer any of our very basic questions about the menu. She brought out our appetizer and forgot plates and then told us we didn't need them anyway. Uh, yeah we did, it came with ranch to dip it in. I ordered the Mac Daddy, a grilled hot dog topped with macaroni and cheese. It was a grilled hot dog with macaroni and cheese that was anything but creamy. There was no french fries or other side and I had a diet coke and it came to $12.14. Hardly worth that. The biggest and worst part of this is that when I checked my statement today. I refused to tip for such poor service, even going so far as to putting a zero in the tip line, and they still charged me a $2.25 tip. I believe that's called stealing!!! Stay away. read more
