Just ate there this evening. I ordered the 300g Filet cooked to medium as recommended by our server…read morewhen I described how I wanted it. It was cooked as a true medium rare is in the United States - a thick stripe of red through the center. This piece of meat was the size of a baseball and tasted amazing. In my 61 years of life, I will say that this was in the top 2% of all steaks I've ever had. My wife, who likes the occasional steak, who, over the last 25 years I have coached down from hard medium well (ruined) steaks to medium-medium rare steaks ordered a 200g filet cooked medium well upon the servers advice. She described it as unbelievable and it was cooked to a perfect juicy pink. The salad that comes with the steak is offered with a yogurt or other type of dressing... I don't eat dressing so I chose neither and they brought out a vial of olive oil and another of balsamic vinegar in case I wanted something different. I didn't but my wife wished she could have had that. We ordered a baked potato to share... it was cooked just right. Each meal also came with two slices of garlic toast. The service was exceptional and the price was incredibly low. I had tap water to drink, my wife had sparkling water and a glass of wine - the tab was 78 Euros I believe. This photo is of my 300g steak. Magnificent experience.

Arentinian beef, interesting wines, prices too high for ambience level…read more The German reviews largely match my impression. Concept is Argentinian style steaks and burgers, with a nice selection of interesting Argentinian wines. So far, so good. The restaurant is in a former pub and the biggest problem is that the renovation efforts fell short of disguising the former use. The furniture is dingy and old-looking. The floor tiles are a disaster. It looks like it was installed in the 1960's with tiles leftover from a Bundeswehr barracks. I understand that new restaurateurs don't always have the budget for major renovations but you simply can't offer high-end beef and high-end wines in a decidedly low-end ambience. It just doesn't work. To the food: Interesting wine list a tad over-priced. We only had burgers which cost over EUR9.00 with no sides. The burgers were ordered medium and came well done. Either fire the cook or hit him in the head with a frying pan. If you serve me a well done burger I won't be coming back. Period. Pomme Frites Belgian style were actually brilliant but cost EUR3.60 extra. Restrooms also desperately in need of upgrade. Conclusion: with a bit of effort and investment could easily be a four star. Ambience needs serious upgrade. Cook needs to learn how to coook a burger medium. For EUR9.50 there should be at least one side (smalll salad maybe). No need to hurry back here.
