Steaks are Argentinian beef. Tender and delicious and cooked to order. I found that temperatures are a little under what we are used to in the states so medium well comes looking like medium, so order accordingly. Our steaks were delicious!! The homemade steak sauce is a bit spicy but very tasty. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and want a change from German fare!

For my last meal in Germany, I checked out Buffalo Steakhaus for dinner on a Tuesday evening…read more Steakhouses are popular in Germany and there's historical context. After WWII, a lot of Germans moved to Argentina. Argentina is known for its steakhouses. Some of these Germans moved back to Germany. Hence the connection. Ambiance (4/5): Buffalo has both a small patio in front of the restaurant and a good number of seating inside. I prefer al fresco dining in Europe but inside made for a good choice at this elegant restaurant. White tablecloths and nice decor always help. The seating is a little cramped and there isn't A/C, but this is common for Europe. Service (2/5): This one was a bit surprising. We were seated promptly. The service throughout was attentive, especially by European standards. Efficient but not overly friendly. When I asked for the bill, I gave them cash. The waiter never brought my change back. Let's keep a couple of things in mind here. In Europe, unlike the States, one to two Euros is a typical tip. And it's not standard. This is because waiters get paid more in Europe than the U.S. so they don't rely on tips. The change that I was supposed to receive was close to four Euros. I was planning to give a tip initially but I was taken aback that the waiter would assume I was giving him a large tip by European standards without asking. Never in my life has something like this happened to me. It's standard procedure to give the customer their change unless they say not to. From there, it is their option to decide how much of the change, if any, to leave as a tip. A sour end to an excellent dining experience. Drinks (4/5): Buffalo has a full bar, including an extensive wine list. Since it's an Argentinian steakhouse, I was looking for a Malbec. One, it pairs well with steak. Two, it's Argentinian. And three, it's one of my favorite types of wine. They only had two Malbecs on the menu. The one I selected was a hit. Food (5/5): When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Since I was at a steakhouse, I went with the sirloin, medium rare, with a loaded baked potato. In the U.S., when you get a loaded baked potato, it typically comes with butter, sour cream, and bacon. Sometimes cheese. Here, it comes with a lot of sour cream and some chives. I also tried some of the tenderloin and corn on the cob. Everything was beyond delicious. My steak was cooked just right. It was juicy. The sides were fantastic. A perfect meal. It won't come cheap but it's quality. I was a bit bummed my the service mishap, but overall, I had an excellent meal.

I had the Chateaubriand and a baked potato with herbed butter, cheddar and sour cream. WOW, the most tender and flavorful I've ever had, the blend of the herbed butter, sour cream and cheddar on the potato was stunning. My wife had the crispy sea bass with garlic truffle mashed potato's. The fish was perfectly cooked. It was nice and crispy, delicious flavor, mild and a little natural saltiness from the skin. The potato's were heavenly, so much flavor and silky smooth. Wine recommendations from our server were perfect. We finished dinner with cheesecake and apricot Scnapps. Highly recommend if you are in the area and a carnivore like me.

The service was impeccable. Fine dining, first class service. I can't say enough good things! I got the filet and my husband got the Argentinean tenderloin. I added prawns to my filet. We also got truffle fries and grilled veggies. We each added sauces, but I can't remember which ones. Everything was amazing and we washed it down with a Margaux. It was perfection! I know we had dessert but it's escaping me. Anyway. Super amazing. Cannot recommend enough.

I chose this restaurant because you can filter out allergy options on the menu. I told my server about my allergy, and he listed it back that no gluten was in what I ordered...... but did not take note of it anywhere else. When my steak was delivered... it had a fried onion on both sides of it. So while I appreciate Germany's law, needing to label allergy items.... none of the restaurants are educated on the allergies, and steps to take to keep items safe. I was able to eat around it, and my husband can eat whatever... but just slightly frustrating. We ordered the tomahawk steak, a date night favorite of ours. It was cooked perfectly. Served with sauces, but honestly, the sauces took away from how good the steak was. Ordered with some veggies and potatoes. I would order it again.

They do over reservations and you'll want to make one because from our visits they stay busy. Every experience with service has been delightful! Although they are pricey you are paying for the wonderful food, service, location and atmosphere. It truly does not disappoint!

We arrived for dinner and were quickly seated. The dining room was fairly empty. The decor was pretty outdated, they were going for a fancy look but it just looked sad. We were informed that the gift card entitled us to a buffet and a variety of meats. We were shown to the buffet, at first glance it looked delicious but the dim lighting just made it look nicer than it really was. There was a variety of side dishes like mashed potatoes, mushrooms, meat/cheese platters etc They also had breads and desserts. We took a little from each dish and sat back down. The food was horrible. Tasteless, not fresh, and cooked badly. It was probably one of the worst buffets I have ever experienced. Then came the meat. Servers came around serving meat table side from skewers. We were served ribs, chicken, rabbit, rib eye, and pork. The ribs were beyond atrocious, dry, tasteless and old. No meat to be found on the bone. The chicken again super dry and tasteless. Looked like it had been sitting for a very long time. The rib eye was the only decent meat offered. The dessert tasted as if they bought it from the freezer section at Aldi. Overall this place is bad. They charge 30 euros per person for the meal we had. Which is insane and a complete rip off. My husband and I were in shock as to how this restaurant can rip off so many people with their terrible food. I really feel sorry for anyone who pays to eat here. It felt like a cruise ship from the 80s with a nightmarish menu. Avoid this place.
