That's too bad because it isn't often one gets a meal that leaves a lasting memory.

There was mold on the ceiling in the shower and also in the main room. Along with that the main office area also smelt like it had mold issues. We did not notice the mold until the morning since we got in so late and basically went to sleep right away. I brought this issue up to the owner and he told me I should have checked the room first and tried to just give me some cash back to get me to leave. I was shocked at his reaction to the situation. We booked based off of the photos online which make it look very nice. Unfortunately those photos are most likely from a long time ago as the place is run down and needs major work to restore it. The resturant they had signs for wasn't open and the cabins looked like they were falling apart. Never experienced something like this in my life and I have stayed at hotels/motels all across Canada my entire life.

We stayed 1ni nearby & decided to stop here for a quick bite to take with us & eat on the road…read more We ordered 2 wraps & 6 donuts for the 4 of us. We ended up with (& were charged for) 3 wraps & 7 donuts. We didn't feel like disputing it, so, we rolled with it, since the charges & the order matched. Service was not friendly - tho I'll note they were VERY busy, especially for off-season. It also took a long time to get the order, and a sit down restaurant may have actually been faster. That said, everything was fresh &, with ordering cooked food at what is essentially a donut shop, we anticipated it would take a bit longer than just getting donuts from the display Case. While waiting, I couldn't resist the impulse buy of a cat mug & pun pens. The price for purchases was reasonable.

I waited at the counter for almost an hour for a simple coffee and sandwich, and they didn't call any numbers at all. When I finally went up to ask what was going on, the staff member who was supposed to be calling the numbers actually yelled at me, loudly enough that the entire store turned and stared. He claimed, "I called your number 26 times!" How were they even keeping track of that, and why was I, along with others standing nearby, never able to hear my number being called? It's not just the staff that's the problem--there are major maintenance issues too. The latte machine has supposedly been broken for two months now. Realistically, wouldn't management have fixed that within a month? It's clear they're just cutting corners at this point. Don't even get me started on the state of the bathrooms. Let's just say if I included that here, I'd probably get banned from Yelp. It's that bad. Honestly, Wawa would be better off opening another gas station that serves coffee in this spot. It would be ten times better than this excuse for a Tim Hortons. Avoid at all costs.

If you can eat before or after White River!…read more After waiting almost 15 minutes and having 5 people served before me (I inquired at one point and was told my food would be shortly before Parachand turned his back on me and served someone else their food who ordered after me). Simple customer service of "sorry sir we are just waiting on the burger" or something would do wonders. I know it was the burgers because the onion rings were cold. When we finally got our food we noticed we received one fries and one onion rings. I mentioned to Parachand that we ordered two onion rings and he looked and me and said no I ordered fries and my wife ordered onion rings. My wife said no we both ordered onion rings. Again we were told we are wrong. Obviously we will get no where so we left with the food since obviously your staff decides to serve out what they want regardless of what the customer ordered. Service is completely atrocious. After I figured out that he was ready to take my order, I proceeded to order the basic bacon and eggs, but wanted to substitute the bacon for sausage (never had an issue with this), however, the young man told me that there would be a $1.50 substitution charge. After asking why, I was informed that sausage costs more and hence the fee. I tried to explain that for that extra $1.50, I can get the full All-Canadian breakfast that includes both the bacon and sausage, as well as a hash brown and tomato. As the fellow stood there stunned fo about 15 seconds, I gave up and just took the bacon and eggs. I would say that I don't recommend this restaurant when driving through White River, but it's your only option if you don't want to spend $20 for breakfast. Ultimately, there are no good options for food in White River. If you're heading south and can hold off another hour, I'd seriously suggest passing right through to Wawa.
