The Little Man Coffee Company

Cardiff is very quickly becoming my favourite city to discover new coffee. With the very new Little…read moreMan Coffee co it is easy to see why. Just being open around 4 months, the place was recommended to me by my Cardiff friends, and was an ideal place for our large group to meet on a Saturday afternoon. The shop located on a corner with massive windows providing a good place to people watch and enjoy views outside. It is very minimalistic yet very spacious with a large array of vintage furniture which gives it an "established" feel despite being a young coffee shop. I was very impressed with that Little Man are very proud to feature at least two roasters at all times. This day I had a soy latte using coaltown espresso blend and a v60 using the wonderful James Gourmet Coffee from the very knowledgeable staff. I saw Aeropress, Chemex and V60 on offer.. I didn't get a chance to peak at the cakes or if they had a menu but I was very curious to see how they can use this huge space for events in future. Such a great Coffee shop with much potential!

A…read morecomfortable, friendly coffee shop with a surprising amount of (quirky) seating and big bright windows. I went straight for their own cold brew coffee (that comes in a lovely little bottle) which was excellent, nice and mellow, leaving me refreshed and suitably caffeinated. I'd expect the hot drinks match the quality. I wish I'd had a little more time to be able to settle in or go back, seems a good place to set up for a few hours, and when I left I wished I could take it back home with me to do just that! I suspect that if I had more of a chance to try everything they have this would get 5 stars.

But today I just wanted coffee so I thought I'd give it a go. What an awesome little place to hang out! From the outside Playground looks more like a hipster arts and craft shop. But in a good way. It looks intriguing and different from a lot of coffee shops that try and be hipster - theres an irony to Playgrounds hint of hipsterness! Get inside and the first thing you see are two wooden swings (yes swings) with a really nice chill-out windowsill with cushions to sit on. I'm actually sat on the windowsill as a type this and it's a really nice place to be! Much like the outside, the decor inside Playground is different to many other coffee shops close by; refreshingly different. There's lots of colour, swings and a few board games. It feels much more relaxing than your average chip board heavy coffee shop. The coffee itself is really good. I went for the house flat white which was quite sweet and really moreish. It was delicious. All in all a really nice experience and refreshing to see someone breaking the mould. Accepts Bristol Pounds & text to pay

The cafe is a hole in the wall with communal seating and a few other tables inside and some outside. It's a bit packed inside but still quite charming with all the mismatched colorful decor. The service was sweet and efficient. Once seated, we were provided the menus and had our orders taken. The food came out fast and we paid at the front. I don't normally eat breakfast and got the Granola. It was fine--your typical yogurt, granola, and berries. It was tart, crunchy, and sweet--they provide a side of honey. I had half and gave the rest away because I wasn't hungry. Also ordered were the Bubble and Squeak and Fruit Pancakes. Oh my gosh, I had multiple bites of the Bubble and Squeak because it was so good! If I were hungrier I'd order this for myself. It's a delicious harmony of savory filling goodness. Loved the mashed potatoes and all the proteins. Highly recommend! Wild Cafe is an affordably delicious spot for all-day breakfast and brunch. Found on a corner in Bath off Queen Street, it's a must for yummy food!

The portions are large and the food is crazy. Good. We went in there and ordered nice big plates of food and wound up sharing them with each other because everybody got something different. I was so pleased that while I was eating off of someone else's plate that they were enjoying the food off of mine at the same time. Plan ahead for when you're gonna get there. I recommend that one hour to 30 minutes before they close get your order in and that's a sure far away to get you to the head of the line at the end of the day.

Seriously, it's not a stylish restaurant, but the concept, the food and the overall atmosphere is absolutely lovely. I loved ordering at the counter cafeteria-style and then taking your trays to one of the wooden cubicles. The food was just as I expected: wholesomely tasty! We took some cheese scones for the ride and had them later for tea when we arrived at our cottage! Definitely recommend this place!

We eventually managed to find The Olive Branch and even though they were very busy and had lots of reserved tables we managed to get a table "laid up" for us. This place has lots of past Egon Roney awards and has a very laid back, Bohemian menu. The staff, if a little young, were very enthusiastic and full of energy. The menu wasn't extensive but there was a very good selection of dishes all of which were cooked wonderfully and the portion control was perfect. Amongst the four covers (Chicken stuffed with Shropshire blue cheese and wrapped in smoked bacon, Lamb and Apricot pie and Vegetable tarts) we were served a selection of salads (bean, fruit and nut and traditional green leaf) as well as a selection of stir fried vegetables. This was very novel and ensured we could pick and choose our accompaniments. The wine selection was also very nice - the Pinot Grigo went down far too well and we managed to consume a couple bottled with ease. It would be too easy to over look The Olive Branch but if you're in town do yourself a favour and drop in as you'll be pleasantly surprised.

You may have to hold your nose to brave it inside but browsing the shop is definitely worth the smell. The shop is very cheerful- a bright red exterior and brightly patterned mugs in the interior. Some of the images and motifs on the mugs you can find in other shops but there is such a vast range that there are plenty of rarer images and patterns. If you, or somebody you know, is a coffee-lover then I would certainly pay this shop a visit because you are bound to find just the mug you want. The shop also sells a selection of coffee which you will not be able to resist adding to your shopping basket.
