    Awesome bar selection ..

Located perfectly on the Thames. Quaint and perfect old pub. Food was good... avoid sprats if you not like fried fishy taste. Great beer, good food and local color. Andy, the bartender is a blast. Steak and mushroom pie was excellent. Worth a re visit.

Yeah - A great pub on the river - This is the one that stands out from the others on this stretch of the Thames. Biggish pub with plenty of space, a nice little restaurant on the side and I have seen various Wedding Receptions taking place here so it must stand up. Wonderful setting in the summer with a nice sized grassed area to the side make this a great place to go and relax in the summer months and a great place to hole up in during the winter months. They have a great selection of flavoured vodka's here, so leave the car at home - take the tube and let go and have a session. Food for any taste whether it be a sandwich, a burger, or a proper evening menu, good wine list and the staff are really on the case in terms of service. Busy and bustling but with lots of space both inside and out, it is a good place for everyone - young, old, families, and groups of friends. See you there...

A marvellous pub right on the river without being snobby or crazily overpriced. The Ship actually is quite spacious and has the loveliest porch for outdoor seating. I haven't eaten here (besides a bag of crisps), but the food looked and smelled great, and I look forward to checking that out on future visits.

Pub located on the Thames. It has plenty of seating, both indoors and out. The menu has some good options and the food was good. Could've used a few more staff but they may have just been short during our visit.

Being a Fullers owned pub it has a great selection of real ales and pub food - specialising in beer baked pies - I would suggest a good place for tourists wanting to escape the madness of the West end and enjoy a typical English pub and enjoy some good comfort food. Good selection of wines and the obligatory spirits and a decent courtyard out the back to smoke or enjoy the good weather. As far as I could see most of the staff are Aussie but I have to say they are very efficient and perfectly pleasant. It almost seems like a competition to see who can serve you first. Has a good local following of locals and a cross section of the community visit here, some reading the papers, others playing darts and the rest generally having a good time. Be careful if any big football games are going to be on the TV as this is not the time to go - It gets very busy, a visit to enjoy some decent food and a quiet drink will interrupted by the rowdiness that ensue.

I loved everything I ate there except for the mac & cheese; which after adding some of the gravy (jus) from my chicken to it, it tasted way better. The desserts were also delicious! For the next 25 minutes, no one recognized our existence. At one point, our server came by to clear the plates from the table next to ours (where they'd been sitting, dirty and empty, at least since our arrival and no telling how long before that). The table was inches from ours; the server almost had to perform contortions not to acknowledge us. She managed. While we waited, one guest at the next table told us, 'Don't order the lamb roast. It's bad.' One of his companions said, 'The beef roast wasn't good, either.' Those were the two dishes we'd been planning to order. Seeing no point in enduring terrible service to eat bad food, we got up and walked out. No one on the staff seemed to notice.

The pub is on the ground floor, there a two rooms with the bar running through both. In appearance and atmosphere, though pleasant, it is a fairly typical pub. Also, the staff are friendly and efficient. Through the pub garden there are a set of stairs that lead up to the theatre. It is a small theatre with seating for around 40. As one might expect it has quite a diy aesthetic, with the small size making performances intimate. A pleasant pub and theatre, a fun place to see local theatre, though a little out of the way.

Chiswick is an upmarket suburb of central London, so don't come here for cheap beer or food. The Tabard is a very nice place with an excellent range of real ales, hand-pumped or bottled, from Britain and from abroad. But a pint of regular British ale can cost as much as UKP 4.00, which is expensive for a venue outside of the immediate tourist area. Foreign ales can be up there at UKP 5.50. Or higher. The upside is the pub itself, which offers very cozy and amiable seating inside and out. There are several secluded booths so you can have a chat with your friends without disturbing everyone else. Generally speaking, there's much more room than the building seems to suggest. Staff are knowledgeable and efficient. Gets busy on weekends, especially the outside area, which is cordoned off from the street. Thankfully, the otherwise VERY busy Bath Road gets quieter towards the evening. As suggested above, this pub offers frequent stand-up performances and music.

Finally, on one of the "let's do a pub crawl closer to the house" nights, we ended up here. A pub that has more of a bar vibe. Nice selection of crafts. The bar staff is helpful with picking the beers. Some lovely aromatic Italian beers. To finish off the evening, I had an espresso. Shame they had Illy coffee...I wish they made their own coffee or some other sourced Italian coffees. Only disappointment...we were sitting by the bar first and then moved to a table. We went to order our drinks by the bar and the lady behind insisted she would bring our drinks to us. We were maintaining a tab and saw a service charge on our bill. The…read moreItalian beer scene is underrated and under known and hopefully this bar owned by the Birrificio del Ducato brewery will address that somewhat. I stuck to their own beers on this occasion, although other Italian beers were available. Their AFO was a deliciously crisp amber ale, but their DIPA called Machete was the standout. I could have happily had some more but it wasn't the best long term plan. The bar seems a little expensive at first, but isn't really that bad when you consider the beer has been transported across from Italy. There were a couple of negatives. The large Machete measure was supposed to be 2/3 of a pint. Neither I nor the waitress realised this and so I was lucky enough to get a pint. They then tried to bill us for two halves which was a bit cheeky as it was not pointed out to us until after I had finished the pint. They did correct this when we pointed it out though so I don't hold that too strongly against them. The other problem wasn't really the bar's fault but when we arrived there was a large and very loud group of guys drinking, shouting and clapping. In my brief foray to the bar they were turning up the decibels on a charming conversation about how English women are fatter than Sicilian women. We retreated outside until they oozed off elsewhere.
