From traditional Japanese to mandala and American-style work, Cohen's versatility and dedication to his craft are unmatched. I'm now on the final stretch of a full body suit, and every piece has been thoughtfully designed and masterfully executed. What began as a professional relationship has naturally evolved into a genuine friendship--when you spend that much time together, it's hard not to. Cohen brings not just skill, but integrity, focus, and a relaxed vibe to every session. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for quality, meaningful, and expertly done tattoos.

We ended up getting tattoos with Shelly, a wonderful cat-loving, super sweet, and talented artist. She answered all our questions and made us feel very welcome and calm our whole experience. I never felt pressured or not listened to (which is huge when getting a tattoo). She did an amazing job and exceeded our expectations. We got matching pine tree tattoos with a lot of beautiful detailed work put into it. Absolutely recommend her for everyone. I even want to come back to Victoria just to have her do another tattoo for me (I live in California, so that sounds like a fun adventure). Thanks so much Shelly, you're awesome and please keep on making beautiful artwork!

I'm surprised that I'm the first to review Tattoo Zoo. I've been getting tattooed by Gerry Kramer…read morefor seven years now, since I was the tender age of eighteen. I was originally drawn there because Gerry's wife, Sarah, is the cookbook author of some fame, and I wanted him to hire me for the summer as a receptionist. Lo and behold, he did. I'm probably a little biased, but hopefully in a good way. Tattoo Zoo is obsessively clean and sterile. They refuse to tattoo anyone under the age of eighteen, even with parental consent, which I really agree with. Every artist at the shop is incredibly talented; each has his strengths, but there is no-one there who will do a poor job of anything. Even though I don't live in Victoria anymore, I continue to make the long journey back just to get tattooed here. I haven't found a shop or an artist in Vancouver that I trust enough - even for impulse tattoos.

Not intimidating at all, as a matter of fact. It took me five years and a little over a thousand miles, but I decided that after communicating with nearly 10 artists (and for some, I use the term quite loosely) in over three states, Mike was the man for me. I wanted the best for my first tattoo. I wish I hadn't taken so long, and I was infinitely rewarded with my choice. It was such a thrilling feeling discussing my piece, and watching him carefully bring it to life. He made sure I was comfortable and informed through each step - before, during and after the inking. I have not seen very many at all that can match or even better his hand. "A cheap tattoo isn't good, and a good tattoo isn't cheap." I believe the saying rings true, but it certainly feels as though I've gained more than I've lost. I would have paid much more for the wonderful care he put into my tattoo.
