The 30 minute cycle area was taken over by people not doing the circuit and just sitting on their phones. In addition, virtually none of them cleaned the equipment when done. On top of that, the total body enhancement machine was half broken. Definitely not impressed.

A young Karen working the front desk. Her real and is Eden. She told me she would need to transfer my membership in order to have it cancelled. This was after she told me I had to send in a letter to my gym in Florida to have it cancelled. Because of the confusion. I asked to speak to a manger. She spoke with Tim Devoe. He then called the gym as I was walking away to workout. He proceeds to tell me that I don't understand what I signed because if I did. I'd know because it's been over 90 days. I can't transfer my membership.. I informed him that it was his employee that he hired that told me that information.. I just wanted my membership cancelled.. He starts talking very condescending to me. So I hung up the phone. Didn't need to hear his voice. I came to cancel and workout. They called the police and lied to them saying they asked me to leave and refused to do so... Causing 3 police officers to come in making a scene. This place is trash. Eden is a Karen. And Tim is a liar. That lied to the police to try to have me in a situation that could have easily escalated. I will be contacting who ever is above Tim to get more details. But. I'll definitely be talking to someone Monday morning..

Take all of the negative stereotypes that you may have heard about CrossFit gyms (called boxes) and…read morethrow them out the window. I've been going to CFR for a little over three months now, and I can't say enough good things about this place. I wanted to wait to write this review until I had been here awhile and could provide a less biased opinion. Some friends had been trying to get me to join for almost 6 months before I finally gave in and decided to give it a try. First off let me preface by saying that CFR is about as inexpensive as it comes when you're talking about CrossFit boxes, but that doesn't mean it's cheap. At $100/month, it's more than triple what I used to pay for my old globo gym (see my other reviews to find out who that was). For that price, though you get so much more than just a sterile environment where you go in, stick headphones on your ears and isolate yourself from the world for an hour or two. There is also a set of Elements classes that you have to take before you can take the regular CrossFit classes. These cost $50 ($55?) and you take three classes, where they introduce you to the basic movements associated with CrossFit, and have you do a WOD each class. CFR is a wide-open area with lots of barbells, a great pull-up rig, and....0 machines other than rowers. That's right; no ellipticals, no treadmills, no leg press. Get ready to use every stabilizer muscle that those machines have been hiding deep down in your body, because the free weights will expose them, and you will be sore at first. You'll learn to love the soreness associated with the WODs (Workout Of the Day). Dan & Heather, co-owners of CFR, are incredible people who genuinely care about each and every one of their members. Each of the coaches there have been amazing with helping individuals learn proper form on their lifts, and offering advice when it's needed. Not only have I lost weight & become much stronger since joining CFR, but I'm more confident in my body and what it can do. When I would lift in the traditional globo gym, I had babied my shoulders for years after previous injuries. When some lifts were added to the WODs that I wasn't sure I would be able to do, I wanted to try and to them at prescribed weight (RX). Even if I wasn't able to do them at the start, I would find a weight that I could do, and still to the RX movement at least. I had never been able to do traditional squats due to pain in my shoulder; had never dreamed about even attempting a handstand pushup, hadn't done a pull-up since I was in 2nd grade, and overhead squats, still the bane of my existence, were more of a nightmare than a pipedream. Now I squat more than my bodyweight; I've gotten a few handstand push-ups, can do multiple consecutive strict pull-ups, and while I struggle still with overhead squats, I can do them. Bring your water bottle, a positive attitude, and get ready to work your ass off with an amazing group of people, who will support you throughout your entire workout. The saying that best exemplifies CrossFit, and CFR in particular, "The only sport where the loudest cheers will be for the last to finish."

Heather & Dan are great coaches and know how to run a business and understand when people have to…read moreleave. Great community and people are friendly there. It's a couple miles out of my way, but what you get is definitely worth it. They will take the time with you if you are new to CrossFit to make sure you understand.

They still owe me $10. I've been in contact with them for over a Month and still no refund. Other things I don't like are the place is dirty looking, they charge an annual fee in addition to their monthly fee to up-grade their equipment ... I never saw any up-grades. In fact I asked them many times to replace a bike near the TV. They put a sign on it and it's still their as far as I know.

I have been a member at Metro Fitness since 2012. I do not recommend this particular location for…read morethe following reasons. 1) They charge an additional $50.00+ yearly fee for upgrading the equipment, but they do not upgrade the equipment. In fact, about 5 of their treadmills are broken and most of the metal free-weights are busted. 2) The women's and men's locker room lockers are broken. The lock part is busted or the doors are bent and you cannot close them. Also, these locker rooms are filthy, there is water dripping from the ceiling tiles and there isn't soap available to wash your hands. I carry my own soap. 3) The front desk staff and trainers will not pay attention to gym members. They constantly have personal conversations at the front desk, they curse, and they ignore customers standing up front waiting to pay for drinks/water. I asked them about many of the members dropping or throwing the free weights and they laughed and suggested I was being too judgmental. I rarely see the manager there. She also seems to have an uncaring attitude. 4) There are several males who work out there who are allowed to shout, curse, walk around in muddy boots and throw the dumbbells and barbells on the ground. They basically are permitted to break the rules listed at the front of the gym. This is just an all-around dirty gym with broken equipment and a staff that does not care. We pay about $53.00 a month (couples membership) and you definitely get what you pay for. An LA Fitness is being built near my home, I cannot wait to join and be free of this dump.
