Two days later it's sold to yet another buyer, on terms we would have matched. We get it, it's a crazy market, so reputation and ethics matter even more. Waited two weeks for a response to a request to open title and escrow. The assigned escrow officer…read moredidn't read anything sent to her and was less than candid when confronted about her lack of communication and response. She then emailed the parties that Placer Title couldn't open escrow because "the volume right now is preventing me to spend the additional time for this order." Beyond reflecting an attitude more than a stone's throw short of professionalism, the escrow officer's response is entertaining for a couple of reasons. First, actually reading documents is apparently "additional time" and going above and beyond for the escrow officer- she clearly had not read anything in the two weeks that the agents and I had been sending her information. Second, the escrow officer sent her email after we had decided to open escrow at another company (specifically based upon her conduct and attitude), the new escrow had been opened and sale documents exchanged. I have used other offices of PTC and have nothing but good things to say about their level of service. I would not recommend PTC's Fair Oaks office under any circumstance based upon my experience.
