This had been my favorite clothing store for many years. I live near the Germantown, TN location,…read moreand I loved the fact that they had petites and misses in the same building(I am in between) My husband has been buying me a fairly hefty gift card to Talbots for Christmas for years, and I've enjoyed using it throughout the year. I've noticed that in recent years the quality and styles have, in my opinion, gone downhill. What they call their "Oprah Collection" has been especially tacky...nothing like what I think Oprah would wear. Right before the stores closed due to the Corona virus, I bought a couple of things in the Germantown store using my card. Without my knowledge or permission, the sales person converted my gift card to a "store credit." I didn't realize this had happened until I tried to buy something online after all the stores were closed, and was told I had a zero balance on my gift card, which should still have had $650.00 +. After an hour and a half chatting online, I found I could not use the credit online. The person helping me finally agreed to issue a new gift card. I went to the Germantown store recently, and when I started to make a purchase using the card the sales person again wanted to convert my card to a merchandise credit. Unfortunately, I also had a disagreement with the sales person about our feelings about the Corona virus and she behaved in an extremely rude manner to me. I won't go back to the Germantown, TN, store, and I'm telling my husband not to buy me another Talbots card.

I responded, "I have an appointment with a stylist at 3 for a shampoo and roller set." While talking with this stylist (she never introduced herself), we were at least 15 ft apart. She told me to come to the shampoo area and without looking through my hair or even touching it, she stated, "because of the density, it will be $75 for a roller set." I then ask, "what is the cost of a shampoo and only blow dry?" she replied, "$65." I asked, "it's $65 for a shampoo and blow dry, no style are the prices online correct?" she replied, "Yes, the prices on the website are for people with thin hair!" I refused services and left.
