On 12/16/18 select items like jeans and scarves were only $10! This store is located in Oak Park, just south of Lake St & Harlem Ave
    Eric S.

SMELLS LIKE JEAN SPIRIT A one-day-only special had select items priced at only 10 bucks! Late in the day on 12/16/18, Nichole C informed me of the limited time offer so we rushed over here to take advantage of the deal. I'd been to this Old Navy in Oak Park before so I knew what to expect in terms of selection, crowds, etc. Initially I misunderstood the fine print of the dealio and grabbed the first 3 pairs of jeans that I saw in my size. Turns out the $10 pants were specific to one shelf and not the ones I picked out, of course. I was bummed they don't carry the "classic" style of men's jeans anymore, just the flex-fit. Anyways, I still got a pair, even though they weren't the dark washed color I was hoping for. My girl picked up a cute scarf and some jeans for herself (each only $10). Checkout was speedy and issue free. Changing rooms were pretty dirty and a dust bunny kept trying to sneak its way onto my person. I still hate shopping for clothes, that hasn't changed. Despite my best efforts I can't wear the same pair o' pants every day, fortunately Old Navy had this sale going. I'll probably stop in again at some point.

Don't even step across Lake to buy a coke or you risk getting towed.

Fine place to pick up basics in small to medium sizes, but no luck finding jeans in size 10 or above today. The clothes simply don't last very long either. So if I need something for a costume - like when I dressed as a rainbow princess and needed something in every color- then I'd shop here. But today I was trying to find jeans to fit my teenager and couldn't find their size, which is a pretty normal size. Went to Gap afterwards and found 5 styles of jeans, all with size 10 options. Also before/after you go into Old Navy, DON'T go to any shop other than the ones listed on this sign, or you will get towed!! I don't even risk parking in the Old Navy lot anymore. Just too risky. Cars are towed all the time!!! I pay for parking in the village lot rather than chance it by parking in front of the store.

I think city retail workers need a therapy on finding their own happiness. The associates at this Old Navy location, by far, are the most friendly, helpful, and patient individuals I've ever seen. Although we didn't need assistance with selecting the right size of the khaki pants, I saw the sales associate, Floyd (yes, young man...that's you), went above and beyond helping a customer with a shirt that she was searching for. Not only did Floyd find the shirt, he found her the correct size and performed a price-check for her. He juggled multiple tasks, as a fitting-room attendant, as a greeter, and as a sales associate available to answer anyone's questions. Although the line was long proceeding to the registers, the cashiers were systematic and striking genuine conversations with customers as they were getting rung up. The cashier who assisted us was also a sweetheart! I inquired her about the number of reward certificate I could use in a single transaction, she quickly found out the answer with the right resource. By the way, if you're an Old Navy credit card holder like myself, you're able to earn one (1) reward certificate each month as long as you have accumulated enough points for it. The pants I purchased for hubby wasn't too expensive from the get-go; it was $19 plus tax. However, after using three (3) $5-reward certificates, the total came to $4 and some change! Did you get the picture of how a credit card should be used? Overall, we enjoyed shopping at this location. City Old Navy on State St.: why are your workers grumpy?

Right when you walk into the store.

This ON and I have been through a lot together (mostly store renovations, but also my friend's car being towed from the parking lot) and I'd have to say it's a good store. It's not really my usual clothing haunt (that would be Chameleon), but it's decent in a pinch. Although I've been to other ONs, I don't know if they've all been through the same changes. The layout is kind of strange. When you walk in, you're face to face with a wall of their mannequin family dressed in their trendiest clothes. I think it's mostly that huge wall that's strange because it blocks you from seeing the lay of the land (as it were) and planning your shopping trek. The shelves and racks are generally well-organized with the exception of the sale section. The sale section (by nature) is a mess. In the non-sale sections, sometimes the price on a sign differs from the price-tag on the item. For example, a table of sweaters had a sign above them that said $20 but the sweaters each said about $50. It took me a minute to find someone to help, but (once discovered) she was a doll! The check-out process was a lovely surprise. My recent items initially rang up to about $90. Then, after sales and discounts were applied, the price dropped to about $45! I couldn't have been happier!

Old Navy's clothes are awful now. Unattractive styles, cheap looking, poor selection. No mas.

But little did I know that he had something else up his sleeve in regards to my gift card. So we walk the mall and we finally get to the Nordstrom Rack store... ahh, the fine things I can find in there. We start to look at the shoes and he starts to pick out shoes for me... and turns to me and says that we aren't leaving the store until I use my gift card money. G-A-S-P! The audacity! My husband telling me that I need to spend money on myself! LOL!! As I clutched my imaginary pearls - all of a sudden I'm southern and in shock! - I started looking around for things that I wanted! How dare I, right?! We finally get to the register... with 4 pairs of shoes and a pair of sunglasses in tow... the wonderful Haley B was the person that we had the opportunity to ring out with. As my items were being rung up, I noticed that my gift card wasn't going to cover the whole amount of the purchase. So I make a comment to the hubby that I'm gonna have to leave something behind since I wouldn't have enough to cover the total... Nine days before my father's 75th birthday celebration on March 7, 2026, I came into the store specifically to purchase a suit for the event. From the very beginning, I made it very clear to the staff that I only had nine days and repeatedly asked if it would be possible to have the suit tailored, pressed, and ready in time. Two different staff members helped me select the suit, and during the process they asked several times when I needed it. Each time I clearly explained the date and the importance of the event. When the tailor came out to measure me for alterations, he also asked when the suit was needed. In total, the deadline was discussed six or seven times, and each time I was assured that the suit could be completed two days before the event. Based on those repeated assurances, I paid in full for the suit, alterations, and a tailored shirt. When I returned expecting to pick up the suit, I was shocked to learn that it would not be ready until a week after my event. When I asked how this could happen after the deadline had been discussed so many times, the only option offered was a refund. While I appreciate that the refund was issued, it does not solve the situation that was created. I was left without a suit and with almost no time to find another option before a very important family milestone. The most frustrating part is that I specifically asked multiple times if the timeline was realistic. If the staff had simply told me that the alterations could not be completed in time, I would have gone somewhere else immediately or even rented a suit. Instead, I relied on the assurances I was given. I am sharing this experience because this type of miscommunication should not happen when customers are planning for important life events. If someone from store management, district manager or Men's Wearhouse corporate customer care would like to reach out to discuss this situation, I would welcome the opportunity to speak with them directly.

I walked into the store and one of the young ladies greeted me and i asked her where the hats were. She then walks me over to the hats. I had just left from Ross Dress for Less so i had a bad in my hand. One of the items i purchased at Ross was gummie bears. I was eating a gummy bear when this security guard (very huge guy) walks up to me VERY AGGRESSIVELY and tells me that i am not supposed to be eating and my bag should be left at the register. While those are not unreasonable requests, the delivery was totally unappreciated. I feel like the young lady working there could have told me that when she greeted me and i would have given her my bag and retrieved it when i was done shopping. I was treated as if i was in a night club breaking a rule and the bouncer was throwing me out. Nonetheless, i decided to just leave because their "bouncer" was literally touching me with his chest. Way too close for my comfort. Needless to say, because of how i was treated i did not purchase the hat and WILL NEVER step foot into another Mr. Alan's, ever again. Oh and the store was completely empty! That should have been a sign to me but I'm one of those people who gives everyone a chance and i like to experience for myself. Well, if you're reading this and still decide to visit this store, you better not eat a gummy bear or the bouncer will BOUNCE you right out of there.

A GOOD DEAL MORE…read more Though it might be messy (and slow), this Marshall's has some nifty stuff at a great value. I came here looking for an appropriate Mother's Day gift this past weekend and luckily was able to find a few solid items in their homegoods section. A ceramic butter tray, personalized wine stopper, and a series of small dishes meant I wouldn't have to make multiple stops (success!) The clothing aisles were in a moderate state of disarray, while the shelves of assorted kitchen knickknacks weren't much better. However, where this store falters in cleanliness, they make up for in selection. Nichole C found an awesome purse at a bargain price (she actually found *3*, but only bought one, thank christ). Checkout was tedious; there were only two registers open on a Saturday evening and the employees weren't exactly moving at lightspeed. This added up to a long wait in line, with some customers impatiently tapping their feet, others a mixture of annoyed sighs and assorted eye-rolling. There's a few shady businesses in the Winston Plaza shopping area but this Marshall's isn't the worst of the bunch......that dubious honor goes to the ghetto-tastic Dollar Tree and their "steak-shaped meat conglomerates". Stop in and take a look, you might find a gem or two on the shelves. Just don't make a habit out of coming here.
