Tonight Doc got us reservations for a Speakeasy Mystery Crawl in Nashville. The COLD night air confirmed I better buy a black coat to match the new black dress since they have a dress code. Thankfully I found a bedazzled light weight black coat for $30, bling earrings and a ring to get into the mood for this evening's 7:30 pm event. This shop did not have that musty smell like Goodwill or Savers. We'd shop for music or Big Sky bears ages ago but not clothes. I think watching Twilight Zone in my school age years gave me the Willie's of wearing someone else's clothes. Hub's aunty even told them she had nightmares with her own mom's clothes when she passed. Hopefully the one sage bundle i saw in the shop will be cleansing enough with my purchases. Hubs stayed in the car with Grandpup and Doc decided to go next door and treated us to coffee. Typically, JCPenney wouldn't be my first or even third choice to clothes shop, but this location is about 5-minutes from my house, sooo YOLO! The layout here hasn't changed since I was a kid. Home goods in the back, clothes in the front. The men's jeans selection is super small and the store was destroyed. Clothes, toys, and shoes just kind of strewn about everywhere. We didn't find any shoes for my son, but I did buy one pair of pants. The line to check out was insanely long. Stretching all the way into the bedding area. One thing we did notice, there were zero workers on the floor while we shopped and only four people checking guests out. Needless to say I don't think I'll be coming back to JCPenney for a long time or ever. Sorry, JCPenney. You're out!

My husband loves suits. He enjoys the details and etiquette of lengths and fit. He's a total suit…read morenerd. So when it came time for him to buy his very own tuxedo for our wedding, he was psyched... honestly more excited than I was about dress shopping. Basically, buying a tuxedo comes down to two options (like any suit really): off the rack or custom made. There are two reasons why you would choose to have a suit custom made. One is that you have a funky figure or size and off the rack clothes don't fit you. The other is that you are incredibly picky. Guess which camp my husband fits in? Right, the second. He looked at Levy's, which had a large off the rack selection and he decided that the choices were not ACTUAL tuxedos but really suits pretending to be tuxedos. They had pseudo-custom but it didn't allow him to truly follow the tuxedo rule book. In steps J. Michaels. J Michaels might be the worst thing to ever happen to our checking account. My husband has found an oasis where he can make every single decision about the clothes he buys. His tuxedo is his favorite outfit. He got to choose everything and I mean everything: shape of the color, fabric of collar, fabric and grain of jacket, lining, length, width, how many pleats did you want, Sir? He had a wonderful experience. He brought along his brother to help and the next weekend they went back so his brother could order one too. They both looked amazing on our wedding day and I credit that to the good fits they got at J. Michaels. In addition to catering to the funky sized and super picky, they do sell off the rack clothes. It's a full service establishment, they will even help you learn to tie your bow tie. If suits are your thing and you enjoy being picky, this is your kind of place and I would strongly suggest you make an afternoon of it.
