Husband ordered the two Tamales in the side orders section ($2.50 each). He wasn't too hungry for lunch today but was very pleased he ordered the tamales. They were pork tamales and cooked exactly like he likes. Perfectly moist every bite. He did ask for a hot sauce for them. It was a house hot sauce and now he wishes he asked them for their recipe. I ordered the Chicken Chimichanga Lunch Special #13 with rice ($5.49). It was delicious. The chicken chimichanga was perfectly seasoned, not overly salty at all. The rice was cooked beautifully, hot and well seasoned. I'd stop here again in a heartbeat. Food arrived hot & delicious. Drinks kept filled. Worst Mexican restaurant I've ever ate at. The $8 margarita is tiny, a few good sips. The "tossed salad" was a pinch of shredded taco lettuce, taco cheese was on the side along with the diced taco tomatoes. I ordered it right off the menu with ranch. Then had to go back for the bottle of used dressing. The burrito Supreme was cold and I believe a frozen dinner. I'm staying at the attached hotel thus am supposed to get a %10 discount that no one seemed to understand and I don't think I got it. Fantastic experience even for late night, spacious place, large menu offering good variety, pleasant staff and very easy to get to right near 65. Highly recommended food from all four of us who typically have spoiled expectations - especially the Shrimp Diablo, I loved it! On their best day, Old Mexico deserves five stars. Their chips and salsa are basic but reliable. Everyone can find something tasty on the menu as they have an assortment of options. You can be in-and-out in 30 minutes no problem with a table of 4. On their worst day, Old Mexico deserves no stars. The wait staff varies greatly from attentive to non-existent. On two occasions, our table of 4 waited an hour and a half to get our food and the restaurant was not busy. We realized on both of these occasions that management was not present and the wait staff was mingling with locals rather than performing their duties. We were repeatedly told that our food would be out next...you can guess that it wasn't. Old Mexico is frustrating because it can be such a great experience! Two years ago, we consistently had amazing outings here; however, it recently has gotten worse. Take your chances and see which experience you have. read more

These people have a special talent for screwing up your receipt. It's impressive to be honest. Im not sure how 7 + 7 is equal to 36, but hey, when in old Mexico, anything goes! Staff was super friendly and fast. Chips and salsa were pretty good, nothing extraordinary. We ordered Fajitas Texanas and they were done really well. Shrimp were large and fresh. Chicken and steak seasoned well. We have a baby and the staff was helpful with him as well. Our experience was much better than the rating appeared. An old simple building right off exit 31. Hungry I stopped to eat. When approaching the building I immediately could smell the warm welcome of the tortilla chips. I proceeded into the building almost simultaneously being treated to a nice seat lit up by the decor of the building. I ordered a chicken finger with rice, one of my more basic selections. Came back today after church to have a nice meal. The food was decent. But when we had finished are food we had paid and was about to walk out the door. My family knows Spanish because most of us had lived in Hawaii for a long time. And as we were walking out we heard one of the waiters saying " " and we did not complain we thought it was funny he had said that thinking there where no customers that had knew Spanish but you never know. This was a confusing restaurant. We came in and no one was at the front, so we seated ourselves near the bar area. I waited and waited for someone to acknowledge us, nope. Even the bar guy just looked at us. I finally got up and asked for a menu and he told me I'd have to sit in the back, so we moved our stuff to the back restaurant area where there were workers yelling and arguing in Spanish back and forth. The salsa tasted like cold spaghetti sauce. I ordered the fajitas. They were so bland with little to no fajita sauce on the pan and all the onion were burnt to the bottom of the skillet. Fresh, hot Mexican food at great prices. Old Mexico is in a motel off of I-65 in Greenville. The location has been home to several less-than-successful restaurants over the years but Old Mexico seems to have made it a home. The entrees were not oversized (as is the trend in restaurants these days) and were hot and tasty. I had a Fajita Steak Burrito which was as good as I've had anywhere. We have family in the area and will stop by for a Mexican meal again soon. read more

Passing through on way home from the beach to NW Arkansas, had to have my chips and salsa fix. I had the hot and spicy burrito. I kinda had to, the menu dared me. It was AMAZING. Ate way too much. My sis had the carnitas. She didn't like it, thought they were too spicy and too greasy. I'll give her the greasy, but c'mon, there is no such thing as too spicy at a Mexican restaurant. She was also ticked that they don't refill the chips and salsa for free, but I have to say, normally I will eat my weight in chips and salsa and regret it later. I'm surprised by the negative reviews here, and I wrote mine within moments of dining there back in August 2015, but just now got around to posting it. Old Mexico was a welcome break for our road-weary crew after we found all the fast-food establishments' parking lots full. We found this restaurant offered a clean, tastefully decorated ambience. There was plenty of tasty ground beef in the burrito and the taco on my #2 lunch plate, and my wife's chicken quesadilla was stuffed with flavorful grilled chicken and cheese. The refried beans on my chalupa were delicious and smooth. Another of our party commented that his enchilada had "the most chicken I've ever had in a chicken enchilada." The child in our party gobbled down his chicken strips while complimenting their quality. All of that and great prices, too. The restrooms also were tidy and clean, and the staff were dressed as if working in a high-end restaurant, and we had a fine experience with them. Sorry others have not found it that way. read more

This is one of the worst places to eat, rude servers, bad customer service, bad management and the food is just ok at best. I took my family there for my birthday to celebrate. It did start off ok, no wait time and the female server did take our order pretty fast but after that is when things took a turn for the worst. There were four of us at the table and when the food came out two of the plates with fries on them had almost cold. I had to motion for a server to come to the table. I told the server about the fries and they wanted to remove the two plates from the table but I told them to leave the plates and I'll just put the cold fries on a separate plate so they could take them away but after I said they said they'll just bring more fries. So about 20 min later, no fries, i had to stop and tell another server to check them. The fries finally came out but they were very greasy as if they reheated old fries. I told the server that but they didn't believe me and walked away. So, no one else came to check on us, no refills, no anything all while the server who took our orders was just standing in a corner with other servers just talking. About 20 min went bye and I stopped a server and asked if someone could bring me the check. Finally, when we went to check out the short stout lady behind the counter ask how was the meal and I said horrible. She then called the manager over and he asked me what was wrong and I told him and he reluctantly apologized. So, I said can you adjust the check and he said, no, there's nothing he can do. After going back and forth, the short stout lady yelled at me and said just pay the bill. I asked for the owner's number and one server standing there watching said he's on vacation but the lady told no because he's out sick. She continued on talking to me but I told her to be quiet talking to me because she really didn't know what was going on. The manager finally said he would take $4 off my bill which was ridiculous. The food wasn't very good. The beans were runny, the tortillas smelt like old socks, and the entrees overall were yawn worthy. As we were checking out, our bill rang up $24 and some change. After that, we got another ping for $36 dollars and when we questioned the servers about it, they tried to play it off as "no habla ingles." When I told him I would call the police if he didn't hand me the $36 in cash or fix the problem, he suddenly could speak English. We waited over 30min just to receive our drinks our chips and salsa were empty by the time we got our drinks and we never got more chips or salsa the whole time we were there. When we needed refills we ended up having to go into the kitchen area and ask them to please refill the drinks. When we finally received our food it was all cold and we were missing an entire meal. The missing meal was never entered and they still tried to charge us for that plate even though one person in the party didn't receive their food at all. Most important part of this review...THEY CHARGE EXTRA FOR CHIPS AND SALSA REFILLS. Second, I ordered a margarita and when it was delivered to me it was neon green. It looked like toxic waste from a nuclear plant. It would have glowed in the dark if it were not for the 50 ceiling fans with bright white halogen bulbs lighting up the room like a school cafeteria. Needless to say the margarita was all sweet and sour. If there was tequila in it I couldn't taste it. I ordered the super burrito and it came out about the size of the burrito that you can buy off the $1 menu at taco bell. It was hot and tasted ok but most definitely not worth the $8. My wife and daughter had chicken tacos and when they picked them up to eat them, a mixture of water and grease came pouring out. Gross. All in all, the food was just edible, margaritas awful, service unfriendly (except for the greeter that showed us to our table), and atmosphere tacky. read more

Tried to call and complain and got told there was no manger or he's out of town or out of the state. Called three days in a row. Great service...was not charged for more chips or salsa (of course that review is almost two years old) though salsa is "different"...kind of like salsa with marinara sauce...it grows on you.
