I don't think I've ever had strawberries without ANY flavor. These had less flavor than water and I ended up throwing the entire bunch out. I was there yesterday and saw new flats, that seemed to be from a different grower, although still from Mexico, I attempted to ask the older gentleman if he knew if these were any better. All I got was a surly response about how he didn't even like strawberries and how would he know? I then asked about when California berries might be available. A mumbled response of "not now" was all I got. I guess business is so great that you can treat long-time customers like crap. Nice.

I found a gem! This place is awesome with not only ORGANIC apple picking but a huge pumpkin patch as well. The variety in the orchard will blow your mind. I'm pretty well versed when it comes to apples or so I thought before I came here. Winesap is a type of apple that I had never heard of, so I learned something new today. In addition, there are actually naturally blue pumpkins! Anyway... You should check this place out! The store onsite even has girl scout cookies, raw honey, raw honey combs, raw apple cider, LOCAL honey, pollinated in the TV, apple pie & of course, an array of apples & vegetables. They will be running every Monday night through October 6, from 4 PM to 9 PM at Storey Park (205 E. Franklin Rd.). The majority of the vendors are food trucks, and food vendors, many of who were new to me. I've included pictures of the few non-food vendors towards the end of the post. I was impressed by how many vendors there were, as well as the turnout. It made for a nice evening in the park.

I thought it was nice. Last week, I visited the location on Broadway Avenue. It's far exceeded my expectations! The variety and quality of the fruit and vegetables was outstanding. It is the best produce stand I have seen in Idaho. I spent $35 on fresh produce, including morel mushrooms, local purple asparagus, plums, strawberries, Rainer cherries, and several apple varieties. I forgot to take a picture of the strawberries, which were the best I've tasted in ages. The last time I saw produce this outstanding was at one of my favorite businesses in Washington state. That business gets a lot of their fruits and vegetables from Charlie's Produce, as does Fred Meyer's. As it turns out, so does Old Fashioned Fruit & Veg. If you're a produce nerd like me, that will mean something to you. The employees were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Open daily from 9 AM to 7 PM. Highly Recommended!!! I've never been spoken to like this while purchasing fruits and vegetables before. Ask a single question and get an ear full of attitude. If you don't like working there, then just quit.
