We paid for 2 hours ($50/hour, $100 total, $25/person) and were able to take practice shots for about 30-45 minutes and then play 4 holes. The service is great! Our bartender brought food/drinks directly to our bay and put college basketball on the TVs behind our bay upon request, and was very friendly. The beer was cold and the wings were delicious. I recommend everyone checks The Cave out at least once. Especially fellow locals that typically hibernate from golf during the winter because of tee time cost/availability. Gonna be great in the summer too when you need a break from the summer heat. My only 2 recommendations for ownership, both very minor; first, upgrade the sound system. It doesn't have to be fancy, just a couple speakers on either end of the building or bar, but music coming from the TV speakers wasn't ideal. Second, toss your wings in sauce instead of serving sauce on the side.

The The grouchy school principal who called everyone a "Slacker". He scolded me for having my shirt tail untucked and not tending to a pitch mark that he assumed that I made. No discussion just his admonishment to me. As I'm not a member there I wasn't familiar with their dress code. I actually started with it in but after 5 holes and 95° heat I untucked it, cooler that way. Additionally, I always carry a ball mark repair tool in my pocket and use it. As he was going off on me about the ball mark I was wondering if I actually made a mark. I'm usually good about repairing but could have missed that one. So sorry Mr. Strickland, perhaps I'm just a SLACKER. Your course isn't that nice anyway and way overpriced. Don't worry this SLACKER won't be back.

Water on every hole. But don't worry I played it well and only lost balls on my first two shots on hole #10. Loved the bathrooms/water stations in the front and back 9. Got to see an alligator! We absolutely loved it. Food and drinks were great! Can't wait to come back down to Marco Island and make the trip up to the Club of Grandezza to play a round. 10/10

By now, I've been to about 29 communities and passed through many guard houses. The guard at Spring Run was by far the most unfriendly and hopelessly rude person I have ever encountered. He actually looked like he wanted to hurt me because he claimed I was too early for an open house. I second guessed myself and turned back. I drove to a local mall and read the website again- I was correct so I went back to the entrance and showed him my findings. He didn't apologize or try to help. It was the worst experience I've ever had at a guardhouse. I'm 57 year old woman and I smiled at all the happy, waving people once I drive through the gate to the open house. It looks like a pleasant place but I would never purchase a "home" in there to have to see this person all the time!

That's completely out of touch with reality--he can barely swing a club, let alone participate in a round. There was zero common sense or basic human decency applied here. This course clearly cares more about enforcing petty dress code technicalities than treating people with respect or understanding individual situations. For a place that already falls below the standard of most other courses in the area, this kind of treatment just makes it worse. If you're looking for a welcoming, reasonable environment, go somewhere else. This place isn't it.
