The wonderful, warm Bath stone building welcomes you from the start and the setting of this pretty village is the final cherry on what is altogether a splendid, celebratory cake! I was going to add some items from the menu but you can see for yourself on their own website. The only down side as far as I'm concerned, is that I live in Kent. That makes it a bit of a long walk to pop out here for lunch! Go there - you won't regret it!

I don't know who put the spaniel by the door, but it was the perfect welcome! :) Welcome at the bar, not crowded but very cosy with a lovely open fire. We were guided to a lovely table by the fire which was perfect. We had a lovely lunch too. My wild boar sausages with leek and herbs were fantastic, all meat and no filler I could detect. The mash was yummy and the gravy. The veggies were water logged but I don't hold that against them. (my meal was less than £9.) My companion ate ham, egg and chips and it looked good.
