Horrible experience from beginning to the very end. Still practice old style used car sales tactics. Not customer focused.

I have the same model, and it has generally been a reliable vehicle for me, and my girlfriend is quite fond of it as well.Used Volvo XC90s are somewhat limited in the central U.S., so when we found this one for sale locally in Olathe, we were eager to check it out. We inspected the car and took it for a test drive, and everything appeared to be in order. My girlfriend decided to buy the car that day with cash; there was no negotiation since she really liked it and the price seemed reasonable. However, just one day later, the check engine light illuminated. Given that the car has many sensors, I assumed it might just be a glitch in the software. My girlfriend reached out to 'SASHA' and communicated with his wife regarding the check engine light problem. We were advised to bring the car in for inspection. A couple of days later, we took the vehicle in, and they examined it, telling us it was ready for pickup. They claimed it was a battery issue. Initially, I believed this explanation, but I was somewhat skepticall. As an electrical designer for a utility company, I have a good understanding of electrical systems and their functions. When we picked up the car, the check engine light had been cleared, but it soon returned. The light came back on the following day. We took the car back again, and the dealership provided the same explanation. This occurred once more, and we were urged to bring the car in again. Nothing was resolved, and we received the same story about a battery issue. I suspect this dealership is dishonest. Regarding the concern with the check engine light; I own a personal scan tool for my vehicles that can clear check engine lights. I attempted to reset the check engine light on her vehicle. The battery was never a concern, as confirmed by the untouched battery terminals located in the trunk of the vehicle. Sasha and his wife are frauds; they used a scan tool to clear the check engine light prior to purchasing the vehicle. We drove just under the mileage limit to avoid triggering a check engine light before completing all the paperwork. Sasha also gives off predatory vibes around young little girls; he behaves in an overly clingy manner towards them. My girlfriend and I brought her daughter along, and while he wanted to hug and show affection, his actions were inappropriate and unsettling. His wife is equally rude and arrogant. Additionally, we have yet to receive the title for the vehicle, and the dealership has stopped responding to our messages. Avoid purchasing a vehicle from this fraudulent and creepy dealership. Holding onto the title is illegal for a dealership, and this practice is also considered fraudulent, which we will be investigating

I've done some basic troubleshooting, and all other quadrants are functioning properly and sound great at any level of bass. Since I live in Olathe, about 2.4 miles from the dealership, I decided to schedule an appointment for 5/13/2026 @7:30am. I even spoke with a service advisor and informed him that I would be waiting. He informed me that it would take 2-3 hours for his electrical technician to diagnose the speaker or wiring issue as the root cause. They'd then order any parts, if they didn't have them in stock. I was prepared to bring my iPad or laptop and work or watch a movie during the appointment. At 7:30 am, I arrived at the service bay, and the advisor asked me if I had made an appointment. I confirmed that I had. He then informed me that the issue would take a day and a half to resolve. I was surprised and disappointed, especially since I had taken off work for the appointment! I requested to speak with the Service Manager to escalate the issue. Surprisingly, Jared Drew (Assistant Service Manager), happened to be sitting next to the advisor that was assisting me and asked what I needed. I explained that I had made an appointment and did NOT do this through their AI scheduler. I spoke with an advisor and let him know that I'd be waiting after he told me it would take 2-3 hours to diagnose. I even let him pick the day and time for me to come in. So I asked the Service Manager if there was any accommodation that could be made. Of course, there wasn't. I expressed my concern about customers being treated this way and asked if he was okay with it. Jared informed me that the appointment was only with the Service Advisor and not for a car diagnosis. I was shocked and disappointed, as I am not new to this. In fact, in my 56 years I have never encountered such an atrocious service experience. I have owned several luxury cars, including Europeans (Jaguars, MBs, and BMWs) and Japan (LEXUS, Honda, Mazda, Toyota, etc) along with every American (Lincoln, Ford, Ram, Chevrolet) automaker and I have never had a service department lie to me like this. I tried to reason with him, asking if that was the case and why the information wasn't communicated to me when I made the appointment so I could decide on my next steps. I assured him that taking off work wouldn't be my decision. I also pointed out that if they were going to make this their working model, they should provide a loaner or rental car. This is warranty work, and with 23,500 miles on my odometer, it shouldn't be on my dime. Jared tried to give me excuses and even tried to divert the conversation. I told him that I was going to escalate this issue with Chrysler in Detroit. I took the day off today to do just that today and shared my experience on social media to raise awareness. Now, you can decide whether you want to give these guys your business. As for me, I will travel across town to a dealership before I ever step foot in that one again. This story will be shared with car clubs, friends, family, and anyone within earshot.!

We noticed stains in the ceiling lining and asked about it. We were told that it was no longer an issue. My son purchased the car. This was the first car he purchased on his own and we were told they could not offer us an extended warranty. In March we discovered that the moon roof did in fact have a leak and requested it to be fixed. We brought it in and were told that the seals were no longer available and the best they could do was seal it with silicone and we payed for the repairs. When it was returned to us the rearview mirror was damaged and fell off the front windshield. The leak was not fixed and the gas gauge stopped working. In May the engine was misfiring and we discovered there was an oil leak in the sparkplug cylinders. In June the power steering went out and it became undriveable. During this time my son was in contact with a salesman about these issues but then went silent. We called Robert Brogden Kia in Aug. We were told the salesperson no longer worked there and I was connected with the General Manager. He told me to bring the car in to have it evaluated. On Aug 29th we had it towed to Robert Brogden Kia and was told they would call me after evaluating the car. The GM left a message on my phone on Sept. 3rd. It was very brief just saying he called. I returned his call on Sept. 5th and was told the dealership was now owned by Oakes and John no longer worked there. I asked to speak to the service department to get an update. The service department manager said he could not provide me with the quote for the repairs and indicated that I would need to speak with Rodney Dillard, and he would call me when he was available. Rodney didn't call. I called back on Sep 12. Rodney was not available so I spoke with Nick who said that Oakes could not help me and I would need to speak with someone at Robert Brogden GMC. I then submitted a message on their website with the details and asked for the appropriate. I was contacted by a person via email who then connected me with the GM Phil Skid. I have described this story to him via email with no response. It is clear that we were sold a lemon and the sale of the Kia dealership has complicated this issue making me feel like we are getting the runaround. Our car sits at Oakes Kia still not drivable. We owe $11K on it. We've owned it for less than 9 months. We don't know the cost of the repairs or if it can be repaired with no resolution. Extremely frustrating!
