A friend recommended this place to me and she specifically said to see the owner of the salon, Ola. My friend just raved about her and her haircut and color just looked fabulous. So, I called and I was told the waiting list for Ola is 3 months! I thought, wow! this lady must be really good!
Anyway, I set up the appointment and 3 months passed. On the day of my appointment I walked through the door, and I see several ladies just chatting away, no one greets me just stares at me (akward, very akward) so I said hello and sat down and just waited. A few minutes later, a young lady comes up to me and asks if I have an appointment, and I tell her yes. I give her my name and time of the appointment and tell her it's with Ola. She shuffles through the book, looks at me and asks me if I'm sure, I said yes, so she checks again. I told her I have the appointment with Ola and I set it up 3 months ago. She tells me she doesn't see my name in the book. So she goes to the rear of the salon for a few minutes and comes back and says that I can see another stylist. I told her that I didn't wait for 3 months to see another stylist! Where is Ola?
The young lady tells me she's all booked for today and can't see me, but another stylist can. I told her I would have gone somewhere else sooner. I specifically set up the appointment with Ola and even gave her the name of the lady I spoke with when I initially set up the appointment. She gave me some lame excuse and told me I could see another hairstylist and that is the only choice I have. I was desperate since I was attending a wedding later on that day (by the way this was a Saturday morning). I could have gone to another salon, but I didn't want to take my chances.
I expressed my disappointment and said yes, I guess I will have to go to another stylist.
Ok, to make this story short: I see this other stylist and tell her what I want - cut and color and style. I end up some choppy uneven layers with thick strands of dark brown, burgundy and yellow blond in my hair. When I say thick strands, I mean thick strands of these colors. I looked like I was ready for the circus... I looked like a clown. She cut my hair so choppy that she couldn't finish my updo, so she left it down, saying it looked nicer down.
I was red with fury! I told her to fix it, that the color and haircut look ugly. And I'm not going anywhere looking like this! The other stylists were laughing and making remarks to their clients. I demanded to speak to the owner, but was told "she left to run an errand". I burst into tears and left.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. This woman, who has no business being in this field, and has absolutely no customer service skills and should not carry the title of stylist, should have been fired.
This stylist's name was/is Mary/Mariola. I found this out from my friend who referred me and I went there once again on a Saturday with her, just to tag along and to see this incompetent woman again.
Needless to say, my friend pointed out Ola, and she seemed to know what she was doing. As I waited there, Ola had 2 clients and her clients looked really nice with their new hair. I will admit that. But because of principle, I will never be back here, even to see Ola.
