I was led to this business by a friend of mine who raved about the treatment he received for his…read moreback pain. I have tried acupuncture treatments in the past, so I thought I would check this place out. I made an appointment for a consultation and treatment. My appointment was for 12:45 p.m. on Friday October 25th 2019. I showed up in plenty of time, was greeted by the receptionist Shauna, and was asked to wait a moment. I started chatting with Shauna and a very pregnant woman who was also waiting for an appointment. I was called into a room by a woman, she asked me to sit by a machine which would show a graph of my pressure points. As she went over what was going on, I asked if she was Dr. McCullum? She hadn't introduced herself to me. She informed me that she was Dr.Mcarthy. We looked over the graph, she explained the treatment options and then led me to a room where she said I was to remove my top,I could keep my bra on, and I could also keep my yoga pants on as she could put the needles through the material. I've never had it done like that before, but I thought, she was the doctor, she would know. She had me lay down and she started inserting the needles on my left shoulder and back. She inserted quite a few. She also put some through my pants and into my thighs, and ankles. We chatted as she was doing this. I walked into that room at 12:55 p.m. I asked her how long it would take for the treatment, as I had to be gone by 2:00 the latest to get back to work. I am a school bus driver, and I had to go get my bus at Aldersyde. She assured me I would be done the whole treatment in 45 minutes. It only took a couple of minutes to insert all the needles. She said she would leave me for 10 minutes and return and remove the needles and then apply cupping. We would leave the cups on for 10 to 15minutes and then flip me over and continue with the needles in the front. She asked if I was ok with this plan and I agreed. She left me, I lay on the bed and waited. There was no clock in the room, and my cellphone was on the couch across the room from where I was laying. I waited, after a while I thought that it seemed like 10 minutes had passed. I waited some more, I raised my head to look around the room for a clock, there was none. I was starting to get a little anxious, I waited some more. Now I'm getting really anxious, no one has checked on me, I'm sure it's been long enough, I decided to get off the table, needles start falling off of me, I walk over to my cellphone, it's 1:40 p.m. I have been here for 40 minutes. Now I'm scared, and angry. I crack open the door, I have needles all over me,and I call out for Dr.Mcarthy. No answer. My room is right next to the reception area, no one answered my second call. I shut the door, went back to the bed, thinking surely, somebody will be here soon. I lay back down and tried to calm down. At this point I'm really scared, this is the first time here, and I'm left all alone. I couldn't lay there anymore, I got back up,walked over to the door, more needles falling on the floor, I opened the door and yelled for Dr.Mcarthy. I had to yell twice before someone finally answered that they would be right with me. I walked back to the bed, by now I'm so upset by this treatment, I start taking the needles out where I can reach them, with the intention of leaving. The door opened and Dr.Mcarthy comes in the room, she's holding a tool of sorts in one hand. I asked her what was going on, she was supposed to come back to me in 10 minutes. It has now been 45 minutes. She mumbled something about dr.macullum having decided to change my treatment plan. I didn't catch what she said, so I asked her to repeat that. She said that she had checked with Dr.macullum and it was decided that she should just do the acupuncture on the left side today. I asked how come I wasn't made aware of this, how come she hadn't checked in with me in 45 minutes after assuring me she would be back in 10. She then mumbled almost as an after thought, that her receptionist Shauna had to go home sick, she was all alone. That should explain everything. Then she says that the pregnant lady that had come in,went into labor. Funny how, being in the very next room,I didn't hear a thing. Then she asks me if I would mind waiting a couple of minutes more so she could finish the massage she had in the next room! I said I wanted these needles out now, I wanted to leave, that this was very wrong. She asked me again if she could just finish the massage, it wouldn't take long and she could get back to me. I just looked at this woman. I asked her if she was serious? I started taking out the needles, by now I'm crying, and told her I just want to leave. She came toward me and said " well, let me make sure all the needles are out". I was just shaking, I was so angry. She finished and I threw my shirt on, grabbed my wallet and headed towards the lobby where my shoes were. She was behind me, asking if we could talk for a moment. I
