I know their discount is tempting but there are other retailers with similar discounts and WAY better attitudes.

Okay, before I even begin to write this review, let me start with... no, they are not actually…read more"toys" they are miniatures. And no, I do not play with the miniatures, but the man I love does. And of course, that has direct repercussions on our household life. It means many hours walking by Games Workshop and Dark Sphere to pick up things for his army. It means many hours helping him paint tanks and aliens. It means bookshelves in our cramped apartment devoted to paints, men with little guns, and armored aliens. It means all of this to me. But of course so much more to my husband. With my husband's discovery of Dark Sphere, it means that he can now complete his army and get 25% off. Not only does that make him happy, that makes me happy too! Because that 25% in savings usually means treating me out to a nicely deserved weekly dinner for being a very tolerant wifey! (You can save 20% when dropping their shop, or 25% by ordering online, OR you can even order online and then pick up in their shop!) P.S. They're currently moving to a less crowded location! The shop can be quiet alot of the time, and some of the stock remains in the shop for months. The staff are friendly and personal and experts in the field of video games in general.

They seem to do a good trade in second-hand consoles and some of the rarer, collectible stuff and sell lots of Japanese imports. If the shop isn't too busy, they'll happily plug in a game for you to try, or just let you have a go on whatever they've been playing when they didn't have customers. The owner has been trading games in Cambridge for as long as I can remember, must be 15 or 20 years now. Customer service is very good, if you do buy a second-hand game which doesn't work properly, they refund or replace with no fuss at all.

Service here is knowledgeable and friendly, and it's easy to get into a long conversation about the item(s) you are buying and spend half an hour in there when you've only popped in for one thing. The range of games varies from time to time, so you can't always find something you've seen before, but ordering is usually possible. The shop is spacious and while items are not stacked in the most user-friendly way - a knack for reading sideways comes in handy - it means that a lot can be fitted in without making the shop feel cramped. Highly recommended whether you're a serious gamer or just looking for something to pass the time at a family get-together or children's party.

The location has two massive stories of wall-to-wall geeky joy. Books, action figures, art, video gaming goodness; it's got it all. There's just stacks and piles of stuff everywhere - I have no idea how they find anything! The staff, while knowledgable, aren't generally friendly, and they're really, really slow to serve. They're easily distracted and the wait to get to the till is long - and you'll still stand around while they chat amongst themselves, go off and do other things while they're helping you. Sure if you're up to date with all the latest games then it might not be great as they're often the same price at new but are second hand here. But those on a budget won't be buying games on the first week or even month of release. The staff here are easy going, and the store is grungier than the new ones. I like the place, but I'm probably bias as I've been coming to this store since I was in my early twenties, and will continue to do so as long as I keep gaming.
