Renew Communities - Worship experience

I visited Renew Communities (Church) on Sunday, 26 May 2019. The church I regularly attend was…read moreclosed for the memorial day holiday and my church encouraged everyone to enjoy the Sabbath day or visit another church. This church is located in Berea in a small shopping complex. My friend Gabby and I arrived for the 11:45am service which was a late service but I didn't get ready in time for the earlier services. There are 2 other services on Sundays are 8:45am and 10:15am. CHURCH SERVICE -- Service started with praise and worship time which is common to most churches. That lasted for about 30 minutes. Then the pastor delivered the message which was about sharing the Christian faith to others. I loved how the message had a question and answer session. So everyone got a piece of paper to answer certain questions pertaining to the pastor's message. Answering those questions for me really allowed me to delve deeper into my own personal faith. Renew is a non-denominational Christian Church filled with young people, families, and couples. The church isn't as diverse as I would have liked because the majority of people who attend are caucasian (white) but everyone I met was nice. I loved that they have a tea section inside so I grabbed a cup of tea before entering the sanctuary. I would not mind visiting again. **** - 81 total reviews in 2019 - 290 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 31 May 2019

American Cancer Society Discovery Shop - Great finds

I enjoy shopping at all 3 of the American Cancer Society Discovery Shops, each one has its own…read morepersonality. The Fairview Park shop is a nice combination of clothes and some great bric a brac. Located in a medium sized plaza the Discovery Shop is also medium sized, always clean and well organized and you can find some great finds. Each week they have a 50% off color and the last weekend of the month everything in the store is 50% off. At this store I have found some really good clothes finds, especially on the men's clearance rack where the cost is $1 per item. I have found suit jackets, shirts and pants, while the men's selection is not large, what they have is usually very good and high quality. I have noticed that this store has a much larger selection of women's clothes. The store usually has a nice small selection of dishes, kitchenware and art; they do have some really interesting items up near the register, they often have some pieces from Europe, Asia and Africa. The selection seems to change everytime I have visited, nothing seems to last long at this shop. As an example I found a really nice leather motorcycle bag for under $10. The Fairview Park Discovery Shop is a fun and diverse place to do some thrifting; not the biggest store, but they really do a great job of making sure that they are selling high quality items at great prices. Not the kind of thrift store you are going to spend hours at, but well worth a visit whenever you are in the area to check out what they have. Plus the proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society which is a very worthwhile charity.

I love visiting here. The volunteers are always so friendly and welcoming. Prices are fair. I…read morealways find such great deals. Especially during the 50% off sales during the end of the month.

I feel secure here as I am a veteran of the United States Armed Forces. I was treated way better here than anywhere else.

I was encouraged to play with the fur babies. And when we decided on a bonded pair of senior brothers who look more bovine than feline, WE were the ones treated like rock stars. Being able to get nearly all the essentials there with a teeny-tiny price tag was a sigh of relief and that money goes back into the shelter, too. If you or your charges have sensory issues, I would recommend ear protection as it does get loud, but that's just par for the course at nearly all shelters. This place is the real deal!
