I should say that the home health aides have been great -- it's the management and leadership of the organization that is horrible. They also are not transparent as to how or why they make decisions. For example, a home health aide who we really liked was helping my mother-in-law who suffers from Alzheimers and she was mysteriously taken away from her because the health aide's previous clients came back into town and wanted her again. So they remove her from us and sent her back to the previous family, leaving us with nobody. When asked why, they refused to answer that question.

Located in a medium sized plaza the Discovery Shop is also medium sized, always clean and well organized and you can find some great finds. Each week they have a 50% off color and the last weekend of the month everything in the store is 50% off. At this store I have found some really good clothes finds, especially on the men's clearance rack where the cost is $1 per item. I have found suit jackets, shirts and pants, while the men's selection is not large, what they have is usually very good and high quality. I have noticed that this store has a much larger selection of women's clothes. The store usually has a nice small selection of dishes, kitchenware and art; they do have some really interesting items up near the register, they often have some pieces from Europe, Asia and Africa. The selection seems to change everytime I have visited, nothing seems to last long at this shop. As an example I found a really nice leather motorcycle bag for under $10. The Fairview Park Discovery Shop is a fun and diverse place to do some thrifting; not the biggest store, but they really do a great job of making sure that they are selling high quality items at great prices. Not the kind of thrift store you are going to spend hours at, but well worth a visit whenever you are in the area to check out what they have. Plus the proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society which is a very worthwhile charity.

The men's area has a lot of clothes and shoes. The housewares/furniture/stuff changes regularly, so go often if you're looking for something. The shelf in the way back is junky. It's unorganized with stuff of all shapes and sizes. But I enjoy rummaging through the shelves to find that unexpected item. Here I have found vinyl gloves, greeting cards and napkins in original packaging, four water proof patches for my phone which I tested and they all prevented water during snorkeling. Today there was a lot of yarn and school paper. This area is my go-to. AND I take my old newspapers here. The staff uses it to pack glassware. Take yours and leave it on the counter. The staff will give you a big smile.

This location is beautiful. The folks that manage it are committed to returning it to it's original wild beauty. They are in the midst of a large project to remove all the invasive species and replant with everything native to the area. So far they have done a marvelous job. I can't even imagine the cost involved. They are taking donations if you want to help. There is a large marsh area you can walk through on raised walkways and see all the work going on. There is another very large wooded area with nicely marked and maintained trails you can stroll through and just enjoy the beauty of the natural habitat. The main lodge is a very nice facility with plenty of room for children to play and classrooms for education. I highly recommend you take a sunny day and visit the "Nature Center at Shaker Lakes". Habitat Restore is such a great place in general and I was really happy with this location. Let's start with the parking lot. Although it is a bit tight, the traffic all goes in one direction which is super helpful and the entrance to the building is stairs but there's also a ramp going in, which makes this place handicap accessible and easy to bring home rolling or heavy things from the store. Upon entering the store, I noticed that there are huge signs hanging from the ceiling telling you where things are located which made navigating through the warehouse easy peasy. I was on a mission and immediately found what I was looking for. I talked with a staff member who was friendly and was delighted as two customers who happened to be leaving at the same time as I was, helped me bring my stuff to the car. Bonus! I will be visiting here regularly until I find a dresser for my husband and a lounge chair that I love for our spacious living room. Great place.
