December 19th, 2025…read more Greyhound has truly gone to the dogs! COMPLAINT Columbus to Cincinnati BSC-11 was an hour late. Greyhound did NOT provide a delay notice to myself and the rest of the customers. I spent 45 minutes on the phone trying to reach Greyhound, finally I reached Customer service, a woman with language challenges answered and told me she could NOT track the bus! This is totally unprofessional and negligent. We were waiting in subfreezing temperatures. When the driver finally arrived, a plump, middle aged red haired woman. I confronted her about the negligence of Greyhound, she said it was their responsibility to follow up with the customer. When I boarded the bus I and other customers complained of Greyhound horrendous service and the consequences of the hour delay. The driver got on the speaker and threatened to put me off the bus for my complaints. The late bus made another stop back at the Wilson Road hub to change buses. The bus was not ready and a brunette woman had us waiting in the cold. This made me more upset, so I approached her and told her she needed to get us on the bus because it was cold! They already made us wait an hour, there was no excuse to make us wait longer. After we boarded the bus the brunette woman pointed me out and security asked my to exit bus. I ask why I was being asked to leave the bus. All he could say is, "The driver wants you off the bus" but he couldn't tell me why. I remained on the bus, then the police came on the bus, forcefully removed me from the bus. I was arrested and booked for trespassing. I was booked , went to jail and missed my return trip to Kalamazoo, Michigan. My complaint is targeting the Mound street bus driver who initiated the complaint with the police. Both Greyhound and Beacon Buses were at fault for being an hour late, negligent for losing tracking on the bus, and poorly trained bus driver who couldn't manage her emotions and diffuse conflict with diplomacy.

This terminal, in addition to serving local COTA buses, is a…read moredrop off and/or transfer point for several interstate buses, such as Greyhound, Baron's, Miller Transportation, both of which contract with Greyhound to provide more connections. It was my transfer point for a Greyhound trip from Greenville, SC to Buffalo, NY. I arrived on a beautiful Baron's bus... at 4 A.M. on Monday November 21, 2022. My bus to Cleveland, the next transfer point, was scheduled for 6 A.M. The Baron's driver "warned" us (though I did not at the time realize it was a warning) that we would be indoors, that there would be security and we would be safe enough, but that there were no services. She failed to mention that restrooms are considered a "service." There were three portapotties. There was a larger portapottie for handicapped, but that was locked and out of order. There were no vending machines. I saw zero security until 8 A.M., which must be when the security shift starts. The temperature in Columbus that morning was about 22 degrees F. The temperature in the garage could not have been over 45. My 6 A.M. bus never came. I was not able to leave until a Greyhound bus came at 8 A.M. I am 76. There were other elderly passengers there, but also a few people with young children, including an infant and some toddlers. The portapotties smelled so bad within 5 feet of them, that only the desperate would dare open a door to one. Around 7:30 A.M. a truck drove in with 2 supposedly empty portapotties. I can't imagine which of the full potties the driver would choose to leave behind, what his instructions might possibly be. I used to live in Ohio: Warrensville Heights, Toledo, Maumee. I have visited Columbus and other cities. I have traveled through Cincinnati and Columbus many times via Greyhound. But not for several years. Columbus used to have a very nice, clean, real terminal; with vending and/or food service, and with real restrooms; so did Cincinnati. A fellow passenger told me that the Cincinnati terminal is worse than the one in Columbus. I find that hard to believe. COTA stands for Central Ohio Transit Authority. All of Central Ohio should be ashamed that this garage is what people from other states are subjected to when traveling by bus. That this garage represents the city of Columbus to the many travelers passing through. The stink remains even now, a whole week later, as does the bone-chilling cold -- inside. There were a couple of ceiling heaters, but no fans to direct the heat downward. (pssst COTA: warm air rises.) Yes, there was a small lighted booth with two employees who could answer questions, or try, about late or missing buses. They were also able to apologize for the portapotties. For over 50 years, I have loved traveling this great country by bus and by train, and by car. My Buffalo to Greenville was done by Amtrak. Perhaps my review of this terminal would be better directed at Greyhound, but Greyhound has so many problems it seems, that any complaint would be sent to the bottom of the pile. But that the city of Columbus, the capital city of Ohio, should be seen represented by this terminal by so many people who have never been there before and may never again, saddens me. A week ago, when I was there, I was disgusted. Now I'm just saddened.

Well they want payment upfront, which I thought there was some kind of meter in a taxi. Maybe that's old school? I don't know. This isn't Uber or Lyft. How would you know how much before the trip. I explained the situation to the driver and he said it would be fine, that I would remain in the car until someone came out to pay. He even called me back to confirm that I explained the process to my dad which I confirmed that I did. When the driver pulled up and saw me, he immediately changed his mind, told me not to get in and refused the ride. I understand that it's not the usual policy to receive payment at the destination, but they had suggested the alternative way then completely flipped the script and with the attitude of someone who had been wronged. I can only speculate there's an anti-African American bias at play as we had spoke on the phone twice before his arrival and he had agreed to the alternative that he himself suggested. But upon seeing me immediately changed his mind. He was actually charging double of what it would normally cost. We were willing to pay it. He took the job and then upon seeing me became very abrasive argumentative and disrespectful. If you don't respect the population that you make money from, you don't deserve our money. Do not use this company.
