I needed topsoil and some mulch both in the summers of 2018 and 2019. What a difference in management! A guy named Brian turned that place around into an excellent place. He helped me save money as well telling me of specials he was running. I found Brian to be professional, personable, trustworthy, and diligent over the course of 5 to 6 visits and truck loads. Purchased 1 cubic yard of the bulk top soil grower's blend. What was loaded was partially pulverized clay with hundreds of clumps the size of baseballs to the size of footballs and basketballs. The clumps were clay clumps. Contacted Ohio Mulch and was told they are putting less sand and compost in their growers blend. Ohio Mulch would not stand behind their product quality. Been buying soil and mulch products from Ohio Mulch for over 40 years. Will never purchase any product from Ohio Mulch again. Would not recommend Ohio Mulch. Customer service is terrible. read more

Would Not Recommend We ordered and paid for a pallet of sod from Ohio Mulch in mid-April, with a confirmed delivery date. We took time off work to prepare our yard, expecting the sod to arrive as promised. Despite calling multiple times and being reassured it was on the truck and would arrive by 7 PM, we received a text around 6:30 PM--after store hours--saying we had been rescheduled for the following Monday. The next morning, we called again and were told delivery that day was not possible. We explained Monday would not work and rescheduled for the next Friday instead. We were told we'd be "at the top of the list." We also left a message requesting a call from a manager--no one ever followed up. Friday came, and we called to confirm delivery. Again, we were told it would arrive by 7 PM (so much for the "top of the list"). By 7:30 PM, still no delivery and no communication. After two missed deliveries and a lot of wasted time. we will be cancelling the order. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend ordering from Ohio Mulch. read more

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE..........From Ohio Mulch's website, showed the person at the counter the bagged mulch I wanted. Purchased what I needed. Upon going into the yard, the employee showed me a mulch I did not purchase. The "manager" got involved stating that was the mulch I purchased. Said I wanted a refund, the manager said "All purchases are non-refundable, it's all over the store." I eventualy found the mulch I wanted, he said it was "triple the price." After continued arguing, he eventually said the much I wanted was $3.49/bag, which was $0.50/bag more than my original purchase (no where near triple). Went into the office to pay the $0.50 difference, no where in the office did it say "all sales are final." Then the manager, after looking into the system, said the mulch I wanted (which he originally said was "triple the price") was the same price as what I originally paid. After taking what I purchased, when getting home, I looked on Ohio Mulch's website, the "Refund/Return policy," says on non-bulk purchases, with a receipt, they fully refund within 30 days of purchase. I called the corporate office, they did confirm they do not have an "all sales are final" policy. Extremely poor customer service! read more

Just left Ohio Mulch Pickerington location. Wonderful new manager, Kory, who was patient and kind and answered all of my questions regarding their gravel selection. So happy this location had the bagged gravel I was looking for. Will be returning to this location for more. read more

Low grade soil and mulch. Nasty Karen employee. Unpleasant and not helpful. Better off using Jones topsoil/mulch. Jones May be a bit more but the quality is there. read more

Ordered mulch on 4/20/2018. Booked a delivery date n time. They did not deliver. They did not call. Submitted an online customer complaint request. Gm said Pickerington manager would call me. That was Friday 4/26. Still no call, still no delivery that I ordered and paid for on 4/20. I spent 30 minutes sitting on customer service chat on 4/26. He said that he called Pickerington store to assist me but was put on hold and manager never came back to phone. I have sent three additional emails to Gm and puckerington manager since with my email and phone info. Not a single response. Calling BBB on Thursday. read more

So I ordered my 8th shipment of mulch in the last 3 years like I had every other on the Ohio Mulch online store. I got a call the week before asking to confirm the delivery date claimed it did not come through on the order. I was hoping to get the mulch since was going to be off May 4. May 4 came no mulch so called the number of the person who had called me the week before no answer. I sent an email as directed on the website and on Monday got a call they were coming to bring the mulch. The instructions for delivery were " leave on the grass in front of the garage where the other mulch was." This was a large 20 foot round area where the grass is dead covered in residual mulch right at the edge of the drive the truck could stay 100% on the gravel and just dump the mulch. We discussed this when the driver called that morning to confirm delivery and I thought no more of it until I got home that night and realized the driver had dumped the mulch in front of the garage door where I needed to pull in and charge my electric car. I called the driver and was told I should call the manager. I called the number I had from before no answer. I called the number on the website and spoke to a female employee who listened to my concerns and then said she would get with someone. I came home Tuesday night mulch still there. No call. I called another the number again and got a manager who said I deserved a call back. About 15 minutes later the manager of Pickerington Ohio Mulch called me. He explained they did what the instructions clearly said and dumped it in front of the garage. When I pointed out that the rest of the instructions were on the grass he explained his driver got stuck in the grass the week before so he made a strict no dumping in the grass rule. So they 'did what they could.' He could not do anything that night but would send the driver out to move the mulch the next day. He was not really owning the mistake nor did he really want to fix it. The next day I got a call at 11:30 it was him. He had sent his employee out and they moved some of the mulch (about 1/2 a cubic yard maybe). The driver quit. He would have to do it himself but he couldn't leave the store. He was not sure what he was going to do. He again stated he felt they had followed the directions. He also said if this was the 8th delivery and only one went wrong that was really pretty good right? He also told me he loves cars hates that I can't charge mine. I had told him I had 2-3 days worth of charge during our first conversation. I explained I was not driving much and could go a day or two more he accused me of exaggeration and got angry. I told him to call me when he decided what he wanted to do about this. So far I have heard nothing. I have changed all my plans for yard work and am now trying to move the mulch myself to where it needs to go. WE MOVED ALL THE MULCH OURSELVES. The place the mulch was to be placed only 15 feet from where they dumped it and the truck would never have had to leave the drive way to do it! I will never use Pickerington Ohio Mulch again. I am wring all this to let other users know my experience with this manager and you can decide if you want to do business with them yourself or not. Look at the other reviews! GO ELSEWHERE!!! I've ordered from the Pickerington location in years past with no major problems. This year has been nothing but a problem and it is still not resolved. I stopped by the store to order two tons of 2" river rock to be delivered. In the ten minutes I was in the store waiting to helped, the 'manager' stopped what he was doing to yell at two different employees and complained to somebody else on his cell phone about a driver that had quit. Finally, the store 'manager' told me that their system was acting up and I should go home and place the order online. He was rude and provided no guidance about when deliveries could be made. He said to make notes in the order online and they'd do everything to meet the requests. So I went home and placed the order asking for the stone to be delivered one week later, as early as possible in the day, and dumped on the left side of the driveway. Saturday morning comes and I start trying to call when they open at 8:00 to see where we are on the list. I tried calling a half dozen times or so. Not a single call was answered by anyone. Instead the system told me to leave a voice mail. Except the voice mailbox was full and not accepting messages and disconnected. This is not acceptable customer service. Just after 10 am I drove over to the location to find out when my stone was being delivered. I again spoke to the 'manager' who said he didn't have an order for me and wanted my order number. Despite having a computer sitting in front of him he didn't bother to try to find my order by name or address. He said he couldn't do anything without an order number. So I left and forwarded the email to my phone and returned with the order number and email confirmation. The 'manager' claimed he didn't have any 'paperwork' so he didn't have the order. He said the order went to the Canal Location and he'd check on it and call me. We were interrupted in our 3-4 minute conversation where he had to yell at an employee about taking a lunch when other people were at lunch and how the employee had not done anything all day! At 4:10 PM I called to check as I certainly hadn't heard anything. Again I talked to the 'manager'. He said he didn't have my 'paperwork' so there wasn't anything he could do. He also said he didn't have two tons of river rock. He said that he had talked to his boss and they discussed this order and were trying to 'help' me. He said he'd have to check to see if another location had the rock and he personally would take care of this. When asked when I would get my delivery he said that he would personally take care of it and it would be no later than Sunday afternoon. That's two full work days of when I can actually do anything with the stone AFTER THE SCHEDULED DELIVERY. Again he was rude. I told him it looked as though he had done nothing about my order all day if he hadn't even checked to see where the stone was. He wanted to know how he could have done nothing if he had my information in his phone but that he didn't have the 'paperwork' so what did I want him to do. So here we are on MONDAY. No stone. No call. Terrible customer service. Un-kept promises. Rude employees. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Bought 70 bags of mulch from them and literally a week later after a hard rain, the black virtually washed out and now the mulch is grey. I went and talked with store manager which agreed that based off of packaging, I got last year's bags which is probably why it faded. Unfortunately, he also said tough luck, there was nothing he could do. He scribbled down a phone number for corporate office and told me to try them. I've lived in Pickerington for 20 years and have bought from this location maybe 10 times and at least 8 of the 10, there was some form of issue with either product or employees. I'm done. Getting someone to answer the phone at this company is nearly impossible. Don't mistake an internet order as a solution to this problem as I did. The day my delivery was supposed to arrive, no one ever called to confirm. I once again found myself calling any store location that would answer the phone to see what was going on. As it turned out, I was advised "they were away at the Home and Garden Show" that week and they probably did not check or receive my order. Thanks for the great service, Ohio Mulch. Ed H. is right, anyone who wants to open a competing business would put you out in a year, tops.
