Would NOT recommend this place. Their staff is lazy, condescending, and rude. Do not try to help patients with any type of paperwork unless you have good insurance through an employer. If you're on Medicare, forget it !! read more

I have been a loyal customer of my local optometrist for my whole life. They were taken over by Ohio eye years ago, and I've never had any issues. The bill was always reasonable and it was quick, friendly and reliable. This past exam I was charged $247 for an eye exam. This was as of February 2026. They made me sign a waiver about payment then "forgot" to charge me for measuring my eyes for contacts (the whole reason I was there) then sent me another bill. Had I known it would cost that much and I would be treated like cattle being pushed through so they can meet their patient quota, or whatever Ohio eye has done to these local places, I would not have come. I will never recommend nor send any friends or family to Ohio eye again. I had a bad experience last year then tried it again supposing it was a one off. Sorry local people that still work there. It's that corporate takeovers policy and pricing, but NEVER again for me. $79 at lenscrafters for a contacts exam. Could have bought contacts and had the exam for less than Ohio eye! read more

check in and billing department are subpar. they charge me a co-pay of $10 and a refraction fee of $42. i have medicare and united healthcare insurance. i call united healthcare after my appointment and the rep. said my insurance covered both and i shoiuld not have been charged. when i called billing at ohio eye first time they told me i was not covered. after several minutes and 2 more call mary united healthcare said it was not submitted. on 3rd conversation with mary in billing she said it could take months to get reimbursed. the staff after you get my front desk are very good read more

Mom who is disabled is 5 min late with a 15 min late policy as a no show yet there is accident which has a line of customers. Totally unsat. Told to resked due to 5 min from an accident is totally ridiculous. Bunch of staff sitting around talking as line into the door. Incompetence at its best like the police not directing traffic. I will find my mom a new eye doctor. Wish I could give 0 stars. Do not recommend this place. Totally unsat. Yet I served 22 years in military to be home dealing with this is ludicrous. Thank You for wasting time and fuel when even called to say what's happening. Yet the office is behind and now no techs. Bcuz they are in traffic. Duh. TOTALLY UNSAT AND INCOMPETRNCE AT ITS BEST ONLY IN MANSFIELD A DYING SORRY TOWN. GLAD I HAVE THE VA AND WRIGHT PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE IN DAYTON. read more

Horrible, they said after my last conference call that I don't care if your a war veteran or a man. Which I don't understand why that has any relevance I guess because I talked to three women? However they said they cover my contact lenses prescription and then wanted fifty bucks as soon as I was in the chair 2 months later. They even called me to tell me I was wrong after verifying with my insurance that has covered my previous 10 years of contact exams read more

I've recently received lasik from this office and it was a truly amazing experience. Even as a marine vet I get nervous when it comes to my vision but they worked with me and made me extremely comfortable during the process. I definitely recommend Ohio Eye to anyone looking to get lasik. Post op my vision is better than its ever been with glasses. R. Robinson read more

My initial experience resulted from going outside on a very windy Saturday AM when something blew into & embedded in my eye. I called my Ophthamologist, Dr. G in Ashland & the VM message said if this is an emergency to go to the local ER. I called Ohio Eye & was seen by Dr. Selser. He removed the debris without asking for payment & I wasn't even a patient, trusting me to pay later. My doctor is Dr. Marquardt who has excellent bedside manners is personable. Couldn't be happier! Highly recommend!!! read more
