Our traditional services attract 75-100 people on Shabbat of all ages--we even have a junior congregation. For the high holidays, our sanctuary is filled with an an entire separate service in Russian which attracts over one thousand people for Yom Kippur. We DO have a caterer--an excellent Russian Kosher caterer with a beautiful ballroom facility. We DO have a girls yeshiva as an tenant upstairs. And we are in the process of renovating our sanctuary and adjoining Continental Room. Sisterhood and Men's Club offer a variety of wonderful events throughout the year, from wine-tastings, to movies, to Cheder classes and Rosh Chodesh dinners. Come visit us for a Shabbat and see if you don't quickly feel right at home! All ages are welcome.

I'm so excited to read it and I was happy that I was able to get my copy signed. I attended this event with a few of my book club girlies. The church is huge and there was a lot of people who attended the event. I look forward to reading the book and Tia Williams continue to write wonderful romance stories.

They daven Ashkenazi-Sefard, but it is less chassidish than some of the other nearby shuls. The members of Khilah Marine Park are fantastic. When someone has a baby the community cooks and delivers meals every day for a few weeks. A member sponsors a scholar in residence program for the time between Pesach and Shavous. Past speakers include R' Paysach Krohn and R' Rietti. There is a father and son learning program as well as Shabbos parties for girls. R. Baruch Pesach Mendelson is the rabbi and I believe he has shmicha in eruvim so come visit and a backyard eruv may be in your future.

Had an amazing time touring the sanctuary with my local JCC group recently. A member of the temple took us around and told us some of the building's history. It's like a little jewel in the middle of fatigued, gray, UES drab. Thank you Central for providing your spiritual resources to a wider community.

We were looking at $1500 for a Saturday night (8pm-1am), then we were comfortable with the contracted $350 security deposit which was to be refunded and $200 cleaning fee, non-refundable. The owner had extremely terrible communication, especially after deposits were taken. During the set-up, he had people (perspective clients) checking out the venue. My partner & I didn't quite mind, but thought it to be unprofessional. The stereo system didn't work. The wall were dirty. (I can't believe we had to clean them) The refrigerator was FILTHY. (We couldn't use it) There were signs and debris from past parties/event stashed everywhere. He was somewhat attentive about the stereo and had someone try to fix it. We were pretty understanding, as we didn't have much time to fret and panic. Guest are starting to arrive and the stereo goes out. ARE YOU SERIOUS? We get it half way back on. Our party is successful, and by successful I mean the man of the hour enjoyed himself. After the crowd of 75 leave the venue, my partner and I clean up all the debris, sweep, etc. We left it better than we found it. Now we depart. After about a dozen calls to this guy, I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY $350 deposit back. He's dodged all of my calls and has yet to return my calls. My CC company couldn't complete the dispute as they couldn't get in touch with him. HE IS A THIEF. HE IS A CROOK. HIS PRODUCT IS BUSTED. I will do everything in my power to ruin this business.

Always a nice group here of all ages (mostly local downtowners with a celebrity now and then) can be found here. You always walk out feeling better after enjoying a Shabbat here.

But from what I can remember, as the crowds got rowdier they had to shut "the temple" down, and it was just.. a temple. (was here for a bat mitzvah, very beautiful place) I passed by a couple of years ago, and by the looks of it, its all torn down. Thanks for the memories and all the good times.
