Most places operated on a first-come, first-serve basis, raising concerns about equipment availability on nice days. However, one of the best aspects of renting through REI is the option to reserve equipment for a specific timeslot, providing confidence that it'll be available upon arrival. Enatai's parking situation is generally sufficient, although it can be a bit scarce under the bridge during busier hours. However, with a bit of patience, a parking spot usually opens up. This is something to consider when planning your reservation timing. The staff at Enatai are incredibly sweet and ensure you have everything you need: a dry bag for your belongings, an oar, and a life vest. They assist in bringing the kayak to the water, give you a good push off, and then you're ready to embark on your kayaking adventure. But here's the real scoop on why THIS spot is the ultimate kayaking spot (at least among the REI choices--Meyenbauer is the other one). After cruising around the bay a few times, one of the staff spilled the beans. If you take a left and paddle under the highway bridge, there's this magical little river/creek thing. Lily pads, turtles, dragonflies, ducks, geese--you name it, we saw it. Total hidden gem! If you're thinking about trying out kayaking as a newb like me, you must try this spot!!!!! You will be hooked!

It didn't want to go straight unless you fought the handle , the peddling was a alittle harder than the last one I rode it like every third strike was hitting or not hitting the water. The boat did start taking on water about 20 mins of the ride , but I am sure this is normal for peddle boats. Over all it was fun I just need to remember to get a different boat next time.

You have to make a reservation online in advance - they don't take walk ups. But it's really easy to reserve one and pay and I made my reservation like an hour before. You do need to pay to enter Lake Sammamish State Park unless you have a Discover Pass (which i do!). The SUP rental stand is at Tibbets Beach, so it's the first beach after you enter the park and there's tons of parking. Once you check in with Issaquah Paddle Sports, they give you a wrist band and direct you to the life vest station. And then you head down to the beach to get your equipment (they also rent our kayaks). I got my SUP and paddle and the guy said to come back in an hour. And off I went! It's a good workout! There are also boats and people on jet skis using the lake, so the water can get a bit choppy when they pass by. ISP doesn't have lockers, so plan accordingly. I don't like to leave stuff in my car, but I have a dry bag with me. The board I got didn't have any cords/straps/ropes that other boards have to strap my bag in, so I wore my dry bag like a backpack over my life vest. You do have to leave an ID with the employee as collateral. Don't forget to go get that back before you leave!
