After 57 check-ins, I figured I better write a review of this place called the - Hele Gas/Car Wash,…read more& Convenience Store. This gas station was formerly known as a - Tesoro Gas Station/Car Wash, & Convenience Store, but Hele took over all of the Tesoro's in the 808 about a year ago. Whenever I'm on Maui, I usually find myself going to this particular gas station a lot..........mainly to refill the gas tank on my rental vehicle, because the prices at this gas station are a bit lower than the other gas stations around town, but don't get me wrong, there is absolutely no one that can beat the Costco gas station......as they are da KING of cheap gasoline! And the other reason why I come here is because I am a responsible car renter, where I actually refill the gas tank on my rental car...........unlike some scummy renters who do not refill the tank, only to tell the rental clerk that they did (I hate that!), because sometimes I take out a rental, only to find out the tank wasn't really full! Just your standard gas station/car wash & convenience store.......never washed a car here, nor did I ever buy anything from the convenience store. If you're inquiring about the convenience store, or the car wash, I'm the wrong person to ask....... but if you're asking about gas? Then I'm your man! If you don't have a Costco card to get cheap gas, this particular Hele Gas station in Kahului is a great alternative place to go to get cheap gas! Check 'em out gang, no can go wrong!

I stop at this gas station occasionally to put gas if I dont want to go to Costco because there's…read moreextra savings on the weekend if you pay cash and use your kamaaina rewards card. I also purchase other items at this location like a slurpee or other drinks and sometimes a musubi or manapua. My consensus is this: The day shift is the best. The employees are great, friendly and know what they're doing. I never have problems when I go during my lunch break sometimes after going to my PO box nearby. The evening shift however, there always seems to be a problem. I ask for a certain amount of gas they put in the wrong amount, I ask for a certain item that's clearly labeled on the counter, she gets it wrong over and over again. After work today, I told the cashier "i can see it right here," i point to it (an adult beverage shot in the display case on the counter. Dont judge lol)...she grabs the wrong one several times. Can she not read English ? does she need a new prescription of glasses?....I look around because I think I'm on candid camera. No candid camera, just a line of lots of people waiting....Am I speaking another language to this cashier?? I'm a very patient customer but I started to get very upset today and might've raised my voice a tad bit. Lord forgive me. Perhaps just an off day. We've had communication problems before though with the after 5pm shift employees so I dont know what's going on. Frustrating way to end the day. Wish I didnt even stop there and just went to put gas and go shopping at Costco lol. Happy Wednesday lol

Literally, the only place on Maui to get a Slurpee! OH, and some of the best pupus in town too!…read more Positively sure that the 7-11s in Hawaii were the first ones to start selling SPAM Musubi in their hot foods section! It's one of the best stops in town now to not only pick you up some musubis, but also some local manapua and pork hash too! One stop shop for beach bites! Grab some and stuff your cooler or lunch bag before a day in the water! Not only the local fare - but also your 7-11 standards like pizza, Big Bites, wings, and taquitos too! Who doesn't like something from the Roller Grill LOL! And don't forget to stay hydrated with a Super Big Gulp!

Honestly, gotta right up a review on the go to to-go spots on Maui, especially when theres only one…read moreon the island! The food variety is the real draw here. Bento boxes, musubi in every flavor you can think of (spam, ham, hot dog, chicken, my fave jumbo mochiko chicken), sushi, pork hash, manapua, plus your standard hot dog and burger setup for when you're not feeling adventurous. Pork hash is my go to, no question. Lup cheong manapua is a close second. I'll admit the char siu manapua has fallen off though. Used to be solid, now the filling comes out mushy and kind of flavorless. Feels like a recipe change somewhere down the line, and not for the better. Hoping they bring the old version back. Beyond the hot food, they've got a good lineup of local snacks too. Li hing mui gummies, li hing powder, mochi crunch, the works. Throw in f'real shakes, magazines, and a few toys for keiki, and it's honestly a solid last stop before the airport if you need snacks and something to keep the kids occupied on the flight home. Only thing holding this spot back is the crowd after dark or occasional homeless (never bothered me, but might for some) One more thing worth mentioning: they do catering too, with a few platter options at prices that make sense. Good to keep in your back pocket for last minute gatherings.
