I am an IHG Diamond Elite and an Intercontinental Ambassador. The problems began with check in when I was told that I would have to pay for an upgrade. If the hotel has a better room available Diamond Elite's get it at no charge. Not here. Two days ago, I returned to my room to discover the toilet disassembled. I had no problem previous with the toilet. Housekeeping took it apart. I went to the front desk and ask the manager what was happening. He immediately went to my room and put on a new handle. Ever since he put the new handle on, the toilet runs continuously. This evening I returned to my room to discover the toilet won't flush. Manager not on property. Kid on front desk says he cannot call a plumber unless the manager tells him to. He also cannot move me to another room because the hotel is sold out. I stay 70+ nites a year in IHG properties and another 25 a year in Marriott properties. This is the first time I have been faced with a situation like this - a non working toilet and a refusal to remedy the situation. Avoid this place at all cost.

Horrible, horrible experience…read more I visited Ohio for a quick, fun getaway with friends, but it quickly turned into a nightmare. The hotel was centrally located, fairly new, and had good reviews--so we thought we were in good hands. Check-in went smoothly, but things went downhill fast. While in the bathroom, I noticed a couple of ants and initially didn't think much of it. Then my best friend noticed ants on her bed--and not just one or two, they were swarming. We reported it to the front desk and asked to speak with management. Unfortunately, we weren't offered any real solutions. Housekeeping was unavailable, the hotel was supposedly sold out, and they told us if we wanted to switch hotels, we'd have to pay for it ourselves. We were offered some loyalty points and a one-night refund--but we were five hours from home and it was too late to hit the road again. Maintenance came and said they found the issue and treated it. They also claimed the sheets would be changed. We left for dinner hopeful--but came back to even more ants. At that point, we had no choice but to sleep in the one bed that was ant-free and leave at the crack of dawn. As we checked out, we spoke to the manager again, who basically told us they can't control ants and acted as if she had done all she could. She even bragged about how she had "upgraded" our room--as if that made the ant infestation okay. Extremely disappointed, irritated, and still waiting to hear from ownership--who never reached out despite our attempts. A complete letdown from what should have been a relaxing weekend. Avoid if you care about cleanliness, accountability, or real customer service.

The hotel charged my debit card four times for the same room which totally drained my bank account. I tried to talk to the gentleman at the front desk and he proceeded to tell me that by signing up through the app that they can charge my card whenever they want. Needless to say, He was not helpful at all. This was before I even arrived to the hotel. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager was busy and I said I would be there in 20 minutes. The manager was supposed to talk with me and conveniently he left 10 minutes before I got there. It took me over five days to get my money back. I even complained to the Corporate Hilton, which also was 0% help. They promised that I would receive a call and they would do something to help make this better. Here we are almost a month later and nothing has been done. Also, While standing in line, I heard from two other customers that they had charged their debit card more than once as well. I have tried to get in touch with management to resolve this issue however no one wants to return my call. Please beware when staying here as the management is terrible and clearly they don't do anything to make things right. I will never stay here again.

Came here with my friend and her mother for a single night stay as part of a friend's wedding. I was surprised to see a Holiday Inn in this area since it isn't particularly populated, though I certainly appreciated it being here! The rooms are clean and well-appointed, and any amenity you might need is either already in the room or available at the front counter. I somehow managed to forget to bring an iPhone charger (arguably the most important thing you should bring on any trip) so I went up front to see if they had one on offer and, sure enough, they offered me one right away. I half-expected them to ask for my driver's license or at least room number before entrusting it to me, though they were super casual about it : "It's fine, you can bring it back whenever you're done with it!" Wow, that's a breath of fresh air! The complimentary breakfast here was very nice and had a variety of warm options (not just cold cereal or basic oatmeal like many hotels try to pass off as a meal), and I dutifully returned the charger to the front desk prior to departure, with them accepting it back as casually as they had issued it. Maybe that's more about the nature of people who live around here, though I appreciated it just the same! While I didn't use the pool on this occasion, it did look very appealing, as did the landscaping around the hotel. I was very pleased with my short visit here and would gladly do it again if offered the chance! Overall: 5.0 stars ---- Pros: - Excellent rooms with everything you'll need to keep you comfortable. - Clean rooms, common areas, and parking lot. - Pleasant (and trusting) staff. - Great continental breakfast, actually worthy of that title. Cons: - None. You pay more for Holiday Inn than you would elsewhere and for good reason: they provide great value and ensure you're well-rested and in a good mood for whatever rigors tomorrow holds for you!

Firstly, this is the best and friendliest staff I have ever known. The GM is hilarious and made time to make sure everything was right in my room and even brought me goodies to snack on even though I couldn't- I'm on keto, but they were very tempting snacks. Ok, so let me tell you about the room. Girl, the room had the most perfect bed I have ever slept on. If I could have figured out a way to smuggle this bed out I would have. I'm kinda like the Goldilocks of hotel beds and this one was just right. So right in fact that when I went to lay down for just 5 min before unpacking my gear it sucked me in and I slept for 2 hours ! That never happens! The tv was actually larger than my 50 inch at home and had great channels. This one hotel has messed up my entire theory of hotel cable. Maybe it's an anomaly, but in all the years I have been traveling for my career the equation has been the better the hotel is the shittier the cable. Well thanks for proving me wrong this time, Hampton Inn! The room itself was excellent. They gave me a handicap accessible room on the first floor and it was the first room when one walks in- as all handicapped rooms should be. Why most hotels put them so far down the hallways I'll never know. This one did it right. Getting a late checkout wasn't an issue, either. In fact they offered it to me. The best part of my stay had to be the giant picture of cows behind the front desk welcoming me into the hotel. Yes, cowss. I love cows and the cow picture just made me smile as I avoided the fresh, hot cookies. Corporate, leave that cow pic alone! Thank you so much, Hampton Inn! I will stay here next time I'm anywhere close.

I don't think it's the fault of the current staff -- it just is what it is. I like that Holiday Inn hotels offer a free breakfast, and the breakfast is usually decent, too. The breakfast here is offered for several hours during the morning, and there are things like pancakes, yogurt, cereal, English muffins, fresh fruit and hard-boiled eggs. You can assemble an OK breakfast for yourself here. There's a little gym area in the hotel, but it's not much. There was an elliptical and a treadmill, as well as some weights. That's about it, and I think I was the only person using the workout room the whole time I was there. There were no sanitizing wipes, but there were some towels and a TV. The room was OK. The bed was probably the best thing about the hotel because it was super comfortable and soft. The pillows were comfy, too. The bathroom was OK, but the sink was clogged and filled up quickly. Basically, everything was OK but nothing was great.

I made another reservation for that following Saturday. When I arrived on Saturday I was told by the desk clerk that my reservation had been cancelled because of the incident from my last visit and charged me an extra cleaning fee for the blood stain. I wonder what they do when a woman starts her period during sleep and leaves a stain? What happens when someone develops diarrhea and leaves a mess in the bed and a trail all the way to the bathroom?? Checking in was also a breeze. I got a text the day before with directions on parking, check-in, policies, etc. We called 30 minutes out to let them know when we would be arriving. It was cute with a jacuzzi tub, and a little private side room with a couch in it. We did not use the jacuzzi tub. The shower water was hot and felt great. The bed was comfortable and the comforter kept us warm (as it was a bit chilly in the room). Our room was adorable. There was a TV and DVD player in the room. Breakfast was simple and filling. Our host was a bit frazzled because of weather delays but he was so pleasant! We happily waited and talked with the other guests. We had eggs, hashbrowns, toast, english muffins and sausage. The night before he said it would be buffet style and then the next morning he ended up plating everything and bringing it out to us. There was also coffee, juice, and hot tea available. I would recommend adding some ketchup and jam to the menu options. There is a cute little gift shop with some interesting items in it. The innkeeper let us stay as long as we liked even though check-out was at 11a. There was one other couple staying with us that night but we pretty much had the place to ourselves. The decor is awesome. Overall the castle is adorable and fun. The innkeeper was so sweet and attentive. There are a few areas of maintenance improvements that could be done throughout the castle. I would love to see someone help invest for the repairs because I would hate for anything to happen to this beautiful space.

If you see this review and end up staying here, let me tell you about the toilets. I've never seen a flush with that kind of ferocity in my life. You barely have to touch the handle. Be careful if you have a necktie on or you may end up in the local sewer system. You can hear the toilets flush in other rooms nearby. It's kind of funny to hear them going off now at 7 pm, but it probably won't be as cute at 5 am. I didn't deal with the front desk directly as I always use my phone to check in and gain entry to my room. I did receive a text a few minutes after I got into my room from what I think was a front desk person asking how everything was, so that was nice. I'd recommend this place. The room is spacious and comfortable and the price is reasonable for this level of accomodations. The only downfall is no built in cooktops in the kitchen like I'm used to from similar Hilton properties. They do have induction burners you can use at the front desk but I won't want to bother returning it tomorrow so that means DoorDash tonight instead of cooking my own food which I prefer to do. Certainly not a deal breaker, it just means I get to try a new Chinese joint in town. Another plus: They have USB-C outlets all over the place which is an upgrade I've been wanting to see for a long time.
