I had booked a reservation for 2 people at 7pm (when they open) but showed up with 10 people and they were able to accommodate our super large group outside (I'm so grateful for that!). We were all "American tourists" but were treated so well and with so much patience, even considering how bustling this restaurant was for a Tuesday night!
Everyone in our party LOVED the food and the experience here. Although the posted menu outside the restaurant is in French, they have printed and laminated English menus they gave us. The dishes we tried ranged from steak tartare to steak, duck to salmon, and more.
I had the duck tenders (my first time having duck tenders as opposed to breasts or thighs) and they were great! We had a choice of 2 sauces; I tasted my sister's preserved lemon sauce and I got the green peppercorn sauce and both were really excellent.
The potatoes dauphinois gratin is a must have! Don't sleep on this! Get the dauphinois! It was what we all couldn't stop talking about. So simple but so perfectly prepared.
I also tried the hazelnut mousse for dessert and it really hit the spot.
Although the food is very simple and straightforward (nothing glamorous here) it's perhaps our favorite meal of the entire week. read more
